A charming B&B. The hosts are generous with their time and offer helpful suggestions. Just a 3-minute walk from town and right across from the Ipswich public library. Also a 10-minute drive to Crane Beach, which is clean, 4 miles long and was sparsely populated on a late-August weekday. A good area for cycling and kayaking. Thursday night summer concerts at the Crane Estate.

Rooms have a Japanese decor, a refreshing change from the usual fussy Victoriana of B&B's. The only (minor) negative was a window-mounted A/C unit that filled half a window. Not a biggie.

We were in the area for an engagement party and stayed only one night. I found Kaede B&B on Trip Advisor and after reading all of the positive reviews, decided to book a room.
My husband, who in the past has not enjoyed B&Bs went along reluctantly.Well, I must tell you that we both absolutely enjoyed this experience and highly recommend it.!
Jason and Makiko and their adorable baby are absolutely delightful. They have created an atmosphere that is aesthetically pleasing as well asextremely clean and comfortable. East meets West at its Best.! The option for a Japanese breakfast was not only unique and authentic,but truly delicious.
Although it was such a short stay, we felt as if we had been a wonderful adventure.We plan to return and will spread the word.

I stayed two days at the B&B and enjoyed the american-japanese atmosphere the nice couple has built in their home. The breakfast was great, most of the ingredients are from their own garden. It's a quiet place and you'll get easy and fast to Crane Beach, Greater House, Rockport, Gloucester, ...

My wife and I stayed here between trips to a wedding. We had a great stay. The hosts are wonderful and have the most adorable baby girl in the planet! We highly suggest trying the traditional Japanese breakfast. It was outstanding. Highly Recommend this Bed and Breakfast.
