As a frequent business traveler I stay in a lot of hotels, many of which are actually quite good. When my employer booked me into the Kaede Bed & Breakfast in Ipswich, I was a bit apprehensive, after all I have come to enjoy the comfort of modern hotels. I have to say not only was I pleasantly surprise, but I actually think this B&B competes with major hotels on a very important level: you actually feel at home, while you are away.
The B&B offers an interesting American-Japanese touch in the center of Ipswich, MA. The owner and his Japanese wife have created a gem of a B&B and are excellent hosts. I would rate their hospitality the number one reasons this establishment gets an "excellent" rating from me. It makes all the difference in the world and it was much appreciated.
My room (pine) was a very good sized room with a most comfortable queen bed and an extra long single. Certainly an ideal room for a family, and if you travel on your own, you won't feel squeezed in. There is a TV with lots of cable channels, great WiFi throughout the entire B&B, and an on-suite shower-room. All in reasonably good condition.
For a B&B breakfast should be special and it is. You are greeted with a small bowl of fruit and then you can make your pick from the menu board, including a Japanese option, for those willing to give that a try.
I can only thank the owners of the Kaede B&B for making my stay most comfortable. When I am back in Ipswich, I will be pleased to come back.
