I had booked my wife and I into the Inn on Sea Street for our honeymoon 4 months in advance as part of a fly drive around New England.
The trip was fantastic apart from the Inn on Sea Street. When we arrived we found that the proprietor had given our room to a personal friend in order to help them out.
We were given the option of the honeymoon lodging across the road which was also owned by the Inn on Sea Street. However it had no airconditioning at all and it was the hottest summer since 1946.
We told the proprietor that we wanted the room we had booked and showed him the agreement. He said he was sorry he could not help and gave us the room for one night but was not willing to give us the room for the following two nights as booked.
Needless to say we left the next morning and found a delightful room 300 yards further down the road on the beach!
A brilliant trip apart to the States, apart from the Inn on Sea Street, enjoyed it so much that we came back the following Easter!
