My family is from the area so we pretty much knew what we were getting ourselves into when we wanted to just get away for a Sat night in the fall w/the kids. We've also stayed at their sister resort in Plymouth, and the rooms here were nicer and the pool area was a bit more extensive as well (had a bigger hot tub, an extra water slide and the wave pool). Then again, I didn't realize there were newly reno'd rooms..maybe we were in one of those. We had a fireplace room, and I was a bit surprised that it had the gel burners, but they worked fine for the amount of time we were in the room. Not very 'romantic' if you're away w/significant other. Our room was literally across the hall from the outdoor pool/hot tub, which worked very well for us so that hubby and i could sneak away for an hour at night but still see the room. It was a very cold night and the hot tub and the cool color changes were very nice. This hotel is right on the main road heading down towards Main St, the ferry's, beaches, etc. It's not walking distance to those areas, but a short drive. We had dinner at the Olive Garden, it's very close by, but we drove, as it's a busy street, and we had 2 kids and it was cold. It was VERY busy on a Sat. night and had a 45 min. wait. The main reason we stayed here was the pool area. The kids really did enjoy it. It seemed very clean, decking was nice etc. The 2 water slides were good, not crazy, but well enough for adults to use as well. Only used the hot tub once, it was hot and plenty big. The wave pool is fun and a good size, kids had fun jumping into the waves, and they get pretty big towards the front of the pool. Wish the pool deck was a little bigger for lounge chairs but it was only sitting chairs. No biggy. They have 2 sauna's. 1 for "families" and one for "adults only." We went in once w/our 2 kids and used the family one, of course. The adults only was VERY small. I went in by myself and within 2 minutes a family w/2 young kids came in. The kids kept climbing on the benches and I left within 5 minutes. I noticed them continuously using the adults only one several times. I was very disappointed that the lifeguards made sure to run right over and tell my 11 yr old she couldn't dip her feet in the hot tub while I was in it, but they made no effort to bide by the sauna rules. The changing rooms/showers were pretty gross. Lots of hair in the drains, wet floors, 1 had a ripped shower curtain. I made my daughter stand on a towel, which there were plenty of. They have lounge chairs out at the sandy area outside the pool where they do bonfires at night and movies. In the fall they hold movie nights in one of the banquet rooms, so I was told. We missed it due to dinner. If you're looking for a location walking distance to the beach or the ferry's then you might want to look elsewhere, but this is a decent standard hotel if you want to be down Cape and are ok with driving. If you're looking for a huge indoor water park then try coco key. But for us, for a short drive and a night away, it was well worth the stay. We We'll come back again.
Room Tip: We liked being across from the outdoor hot tub/pool. Very short walk. Otherwise, we'd probably a...
