“Convienant and clean...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2011

I stayed here in mid June 2011 for a parent's orientation at UMASS Amherst. The check-in clerk was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and offered a decent mattress and bedding, coffee maker, blowdryer, free WIFI, desk, and great shower pressure. 2 small complaints: the pillows were awful (I find most hotels are not good, and try to remember to dring my own when I can...forgot this time :( ) and there was no hair conditioner in the room- only shampoo. Other than that, it was a good experience at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: in mid June

“Pleasant stay, especially fine desk staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2011

While this hotel perhaps qualifies as a "sleep-cheap" it exceeds those expectations. Rooms pleasant and comfortable--the windows open!. We found the staff particularly responsive and professional. Guests may want to choose the nearby Whole Foods for breakfast as the hotel b'fast is limited. All around, we considered our fourteen day stay a very good value.

“Great location, friendly staff, lousy bed and breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2011

It was a great location on Rt 9 closer to Amherst, Northampton and the nearby great areas. It has a mall with Walmart, Wholefood, Michael's....etc right behind and many other names store closeby. Plenty of good restaurants and fast food, convenient stores and gas stations. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. The linen, room and bathroom were clean. I was really going to rate it higher if it was not the bad quality mattress that made my back hurt the next day. The edge of the lamp cover over the mirror was so sharp that I got a deep cut when brushing hair. The breakfast was really minimum and no hot stuffs except coffee and we couldn't find hot water for the tea and oat meal. Probably were expected to use microwave.

“Good value, great location, great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

So it's not a five star hotel, but for the money, what more could you ask - breakfast is adequate - cereals, muffins, toast, and there is always coffee available 24/7 which is great, and there's a huge shopping center directly behind. Can walk to it through a shortcut through the thin strip of marsh if you're adventurous. Dunkin Donuts is next door. The pool is nice and clean. The staff is great, very pleasant and helpful. This is a great hotel to stay in close to Amherst and the Emily Dickinson house, which is what we was there for. Thumbs up.

“Average rooms, warm pool, lousy breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2010

Rooms were average. This isn't a high-end place, but it was okay. Very convenient. Free breakfast was lousy but Dunkin Donuts is next door so just go there instead. Pool wasn't huge but was warm and clean and nice. I heard one lady complain she couldn't do laps in the pool, but it was great for relaxing in. Staff was great! Very helpful and friendly. Free internet in rooms but not wireless. Wireless would be better obviously but you could plug in, and front desk had the cord if you needed it. I think the price tag was because of location not because of how great the hotel was. In another location these rooms would be cheaper.
