“Avoid!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

people found this review helpful

Reserved room online, didn't get what we reserved. We were told that internet reservations do not guarantee availability. (why have internet reservations?)

We checked in at 5PM. Hallway was strewn in linens. Room was dirty. Furniture was beat up, brown mold behind toilet, burn hole on bed spread. (non smoking room)

Breakfast nook is way too small to accommodate the guests. Breakfast foods are not restocked as the morning went on.

Other reviews about this property have been saying the same thing, with management apologizing, but nothing changes.

“Stinky stale cigarette smoke....YUCK!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

We walked into the rooms and they reeked of stale cigarette smoke. We had two rooms, both with kids sleeping in them. We tried to spray, but perfume would not even cover it for 30 seconds. We asked for new rooms, but they told us they didnt have any and we shouldnt have booked the room online. They employee at the desk was very kind and offered to change the sheets/blankets but this room was saturated (curtains, carpet, everything) with stale smoke. If you are a non smoker..I WOULD NOT STAY HERE! We ended up having to drive home for the night because none of us could stand it.

“DO NOT Stay Here Hampton Inn just behind is much better”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2010

I guess you get what you pay for. Very tiny business center/excercise room, NO pool. Couldn't get past the itchy feeling from the bed - the dirty grungy tub- the moldy shower curtain, to even sit in there tiny breakfast area to eat something. Stayed here for a softball tournament, and the complaints seemed to be across the board. When we came back from the game, the tub still not cleaned, and they left clean towels, but left the dirty face cloths in the dirty tub. beds where made but not with clean sheets. Alarm clocks did not work, phone did not work. another family who stayed with us there tv did not work. Some families were put in smoking rooms when they reserved non smoking rooms. Overall disgusting. The hampton inn is right behind the days inn and is a much newer place, with a pool, costs a bit more but much worth it.

First off, I would like to sincerely apologize for your experience at our hotel. We have taken a serious look into the issues you addressed in your review and taken measures to ensure proper room inspections and accountability, so that problems like lack of housekeeping and broken appliances will no longer occur. I am sorry if you and your teammates were under the impression that the hotel had a pool and a larger business center. It would interest me to know where you read or heard otherwise, so that we can correct any misinformation. I truly hope you will consider another stay to allow us to show you the changes we've implemented. Your reviews are very valuable to us, as they let us know how we can improve.

“servicable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2010

This was the only room available in the entire region due to large lacrosse tournament being held at UMASS. Reluctantly booked and then was frightened after reading the reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Hotel is small with small rooms, but the room was clean, all carpets appeared to be new and the beds were comfortable with clean linens (I checked). We skipped the breakfast because we knew it would be filled with fellow lacrosse families all croweded into small space to feed their players and brought some food to keep in room instead. Were happy to find a refrigator and good internet connection. Dunkin Doughnuts right down the road and the 99 right next door. All in all, it was a fine hotel if you are looking for a clean place to lay your head at night and a convenient location to eat and jump on the highway.

“exceptional service friendly associates”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2010

on our first few days a family with several young children were staying on the first floor at the same time we were there. the children were out of control while the parents sat in the lobby smoking and not paying attention (the children were very disruptive at very late hours 10&11pm at night slaming doord and running and screaming up and down the hallway, what kind of parents allow this behavior,) your staff attempted to curb the children the best they could without any help from the parents. your staff were very professional ,i highly reccomend your hotel for the friendly and helpful staff alone.!!!!!
