Made a last-minute reservation here after deciding to stay in the areas for an extra night (Spent 1st night at Comfort Inn--nice but overpriced!). The person we spoke to (owner? manager?) asked when we'd be arriving so he could turn the heat on. When we arrived (15 minutes later) the room was already warm.

Monument Motel was so clean, comfortable, and our room, which had 2 queen beds, was very spacious. The bathroom was perfectly clean and looked recently re-done. Nothing fancy, but great value! Rooms have wifi, hair dryer, TV, and fridge.

When we checked out, we left a down jacket and cell phone in our room. The cleaning staff must have checked our room just moments after we left it because within 5 minutes of checking out, the owner called my cell to tell me that we'd left those things behind. In addition to appreciating their honesty, I appreciated the prompt phone call--heading back to the motel to pick our things took only a few minutes.

If you need a clean place to stay in the Berkshires and don't need an indoor pool, workout room, or included breakfast, this is a great choice!!

This review is long over-due. We've stayed here many times over the past few years and always leave happy. The place is immaculate with friendly owners, well kept grounds, a great value, but the best thing is they allow dogs. Which is very rare in Berkshires. We highly recommend this place!

We've stayed here twice for ski trips and always liked or stay. This trip the owner upgraded us to a room with a king and a twin bed at no extra charge, when he saw my wife and son and myself were going to share a queen.
Rooms are small but bright and cheerful and immaculately clean! Highly recommended.

I have stayed at this motel a couple of times as I do business in Great Barrington, MA. The good points - great price for a very overpriced area. Friendly and helpful owners. Clean room, which I really appreciate! Bad points - I was there 2 weeks ago when it was extremely cold. The heater for the room is high up, I had to stand on the bed to reach it. It's very loud and turns off and on, off and on. There was no way to control it to make it run all the time, which is much preferred over having it shut off and on all night. I have a difficult time sleeping that way. The room was over heated from my waist up and quite cold from my waist down. The bathroom was very cold; no heater in that room. Also, the bed was harder than what I like.
