It was a pleasure to stay at the Lane's Cove B&B, which bristled with pride of ownership.

It was the nicest of the B&Bs we patronized on our trip.

I especially liked the proprietor's special scones, which were moist and delicious.

Would definitely return!

We selected Lane's Cove House because of its location and based on other reviews. We were not disappointed. Anna is the perfect host and we had a wonderful two night stay in the Quilt Room which faced the cove. The room was lovely and exceptionally clean. The bathroom was not within this particular room, but rather two steps across the hall. This did not present any problems, and bathrobes were thoughtfully provided. Anna offers her guests extra amenities, including the use of a computer if you do not travel with a laptop. It was a short walk to the cove on a picturesque trail leading from the house's backyard. (You could also drive down.) Breakfast was wonderful and featured, among other items, a choice of Anna's home made scones. Highly recommend.

Exploring the many coves along this stretch of Cape Ann was an absolute treat but it was Anna's hospitality, kindness and sense of humor that will keep us coming back to Lanes Cove House. Perfect place to spend a few nights while touring Gloucester Harbor or taking the short ride to Rockport. Can't wait to go back.

We wanted quiet, out of the way of the busy touristy summer cape crowds, but beautiful beaches, friendly service and serene surroundings. The Lanes Cove House was perfect. Anna, our host, was kind, funny, helpful and above all an immaculate housekeeper, not to mention she makes the best scones ever. Though you need a car for most activities, there was plenty to do, great restaurants, beaches, hikes and parks to explore then a wonderful place to come "home" to.
