“What a dump! Outdated and need repair badly”

stayed for 5 days for my gf's study in near by college. booking used the choice hotels website, easy to use. arrive at econo lodge, check-in is just ok, not friendly and helpful at all, the owner/manager (south asain) doesn't seem to care, they also charge me for the whole stay on check-in, don't know if it's ok? enter the room on 2nd floor just beside the stairs outdoor, what a dump! room smells, a/c really loud, bathroom tiles molded, shower head has stains, toliet seat has stains I can't even remove using the soap and the bathroom door can't even close properly. bed is ok, sheets clean, pillow ok too, but the noise from people walking and talking beside the stairs and unbearable (drunks/young men talks loudly at 4am!) Added bonus, this motel has basic breakfast, but the only thing looks ok to consume is the weak coffee. location is ok right on Route 9, but I'll suggest you pay more to get a room elsewhere!

“Genial staff, good location, good price, room not so hot = OK value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2010

I unexpectedly needed a room for one night in Framingham, and the EconoLodge was the cheapest priced place that didn't have awful reviews, so I went for it. It's not great, but I could have done far worse -- and so could you.

I was checked in by a personable 20-something young woman, who I think is the daughter of the proprietors. She expeditiously resolved a snag in my reservation, and I got to my room quickly.

Now the room itself is the bad news. On entering I noted a low-grade musty odor; low-grade enough that I decided I could live with it. Then, looking around, it was apparent that the furniture has seen better days. Two armchairs look beat up, the front of the nightstand drawer is hanging off one side. There is *no* coffee maker! And the wifi is slow. Still the bed was comfortable enough, and the linens were clean.

So all in all, this is no one's idea of a top-flight hostelry. Still, $60 ($67 with tax) for a room in a convenient location on the outskirts of Boston, this is not too bad if you're working on a budget.

“Nice Staff, OK for the money near Boston”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2010

We came to visit family in Boston. This motel was the best we could find for the money. It offered the basics and met our needs. Had free wifi which we appreciate. We didn't try the free breakfast. The staff is very nice. It is near a Dunkin Donuts and is an easy drive to the western Boston suburbs. We might consider it again for the purpose.

“Good Budget Choice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2004

Good choice for low budget. Room was clean with slight musty odor like most other cheaper motels. AC, TV, shower were in good working order. Beds were okay. Stayed for one night to go to Fenway Park. Arrived six hours before check in and the motel allowed us to check in then. We arrived expecting the worst, but found everything was satisfactory.
