The room appeared to be quite clean however, they keep pillows in shams over the pillows with the regular pillowcases which seems rather unhygienic. Also, there is an ice bucket included in the room, but there was no bag included and you had to go to the front desk and hope someone was there to give you some ice. The cups in the room were also just open with nothing covering them and no sign that they were changed when the guests of the room changed. The bathroom was cute and clean, and they stock bath and body works soap and shampoo. The bathroom is pretty small which makes me wary of how far the toilet water sprays when you flush. Also you have to hold the handle down for about a minute before the toilet flushes all the way.
There is a mini fridge in the room. If you want coffee or tea you have to go to the breakfast room which closes pretty early in the evening. They also leave the lights off in their all day so it seems very unwelcoming. The machine they expect people to get the hot water from is basically impossible to use, and they should leave a book of instructions next to it. The breakfast was different types of cereal, bagels, croissants, yogurt (if you're lucky and get there early), apples and bananas, and juice boxes.
We did not have a car with us, nor rent one for a trip to Falmouth. According to all the books and online information, there appeared to be a decent amount of public transportation and things to do nearby that we could walk around. The "town" was about 1.5 miles away in one direction, and the beach 1.5 miles away in the other direction. Instead of a pool at the Red Horse, there is just a giant gravel pit with patio furniture so it was quite a hike to get to and from a source of water. The "public transportation" of Falmouth is a joke. We were told that there was a trolley as well as a bus system before we arrived in Massachusetts. While the people in Falmouth had seen the trolley and buses driving around the city, no one knew where they picked people up, where they went, or how much they cost. I would hope that the people working at the front desk would brush up on this information before more guests arrive at their hotel.
