We've stayed at the Red Horse on four different occasions while participating in the Annual Falmouth Road Race (every August). The staff and owners could not have been more gracious and inviting. Spotlessly clean rooms and baths. Lovely grounds and yes, those cool red chairs in the photo are right there on the front lawn. Coffee and continental breakfast every morning. If you're running in the race, it's very close to the Registration and Race Expo center. Large grocery, pharmacy and package stores right nearby along with plenty of places to eat and drink. Easy walk to the Martha's Vineyard Ferry and not too far a walk to the beach. Also a nice distance for walking into the village with many good restaurants, stores and pubs. With summer traffic on the tiny main street, you're well-advised to leave the car parked and walk about. Like anything on the Cape in August, a little pricey (3-night minimum for race weekend) but in-line with the local average. For us, the central location, charming rooms and grounds, attentive owners and friendly staff make it well worth considering. Off season prices and specials are particularly attractive. If you like something different from the typical (and overpriced) cookie-cutter chains, check out the Red Horse Inn. Highly recommended for your next Falmouth Road Race weekend.
