“SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2010

The sole purpose of this place's existence is to use brainwashing techniques to scam people into buying a timeshare. The sales are so high pressure you just want to say yes so they will let you leave. They will do everything in their power to prevent you from leaving. If you do buy, you're buying points, not even a unit or week. The maintenance fees have tripled since we got conned. There is nothing you can do to get out of the point system once you are in and have to pay maintenance fees for the rest of your life. The place is really nasty-dirty and run down. The location isnt even that great. It's certainly not worth an overnight stay, and beware of the scam artists.

“Don't bother going unless you are staying for free and want free airfare.”

Okay so we too got the phone call to come tour the property. They put us in a suite with a Queen Bed and pull-out couch w/ kitchenette. Our section of the hotel hadn't been remodeled yet. It was a big enough space to accommodate us but it was very outdated. The TV stand/Entertainment center looked very 80's, the dishwasher which we didn't use was teeny tiny and prob from the 70s. Their was a two burner cook top that if you had maybe a 5 or 6 year old that could reach the knobs was probably not in a good location. I had talked to my parents after we got there and they forewarned be about problems that other people had with there rooms. I wasn't at all impressed with the linens. There was what looked like 4 burn holes in the blanket under the comforter. When I lifted up the sheet to look at mattress the pad had strands of hair on it and I wasn't impressed with the pillow cases. We ended up having my toddler sleep with us on top of his big fleece blanket on top of the sheets. So in short if you can deal with a room like this (I advise not to sleep under the covers) for one night than it's worthwhile just to get your free package. We did the tour the next morning and the other properties were in better locations. The rep took us to different properties which were nicer than HarborWalk but I've seen way nicer time shares. We were done in 1.5 hours like we were told. The rep does ask you what you usually spend on vacation for a year. That is how they judge your monthly payments when they try to convince you to buy at the end. We didn't buy. Here's the catch to the airfare. You get 4 roundtrip tickets but can only use two per trip/vacation. They are good for two years. That will save a family some money anyway. We talked to people that stayed in a remodeled unit and they had to sleep on a murphy bed that pulls down from the wall. The gentleman said he had to spent most of the night on the couch b/c the bed was so uncomfortable.

“GREAT PLACE - WILL DEFINITELY RETURN”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2009

Apparently, this resort has 2 areas -- one that's fabulous, and one that is far less. It's important when reading the reviews to distinguish the 2. I did a timeshare exchange and stayed at the timeshare area of the resort. I can't say enough good things about our stay.

I stayed with my elderly mother and 3 sisters for our annual girls weekend. We had two side-by-side rooms, with an adjoining doorway. We had 2 TV's, 2 bathrooms, 2 kitchens. The rooms were very large with a living area and couches....very well maintained and a nice color scheme. The bathrooms were so clean, well stocked and decorated very nicely. Check-in and check-out were flawless with helpful staff that were very cordial and pleasant. Our rooms were very well-stocked with everything you could possibly need for an extended stay. Cooking is somewhat limited as there is only a 2-burner cooktop in each unit and no oven, but there is a microwave and when you have 2 rooms, everything is doubled. Location overlooking Falmouth Harbor was ideal. Downtown is within walking distance, some nice shopping nearby, and fine restaurants a short drive away. The Island Queen to Martha's Vineyard is one block away, and within sight from your room. We were there in December for the town's holiday weekend -- saw a great parade, toured Highfield Manor which was decorated by designers for Christmas and had a men's chorale group signing Christmas songs, a silent auction. We could use the facilities at the other Inn Season Resorts nearby but did not only because we were busy shopping, dining, etc. We lunched at the The British Ale Company twice, had a wonderful dinner at the Nimrod Restaurant, and lunch at Laureens on Main Street was great.

Two complaints: The resort does not have on-site security, but shares it's security with two other Inn Seasons Resorts in Falmouth. Harbor Walk rented 6 rooms to a high school basketball team who were really having way too much fun from midnight to 3 a.m. both nights and the noise ruined our sleep for both nights. Had there been on-site security, I'm sure this would not have been tolerated. The other is housekeeping. They restocked the bathrooms with towels, soaps, etc, and remade the beds, but that was it.

I can't wait to go back in the summer!

“VERY DIRTY, WORST PLACE I EVER STAYED”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2009

The bathroom smelled moldy, beds were dirty, pillow covers stunk, they were unchanged from last people who stayed. The mattress didn’t have a matress cover, could be seen through the sheet. No sign of cleaning staff at any time.

We booked a 3 night vacation there and left after the first night. Had to spend the next morning looking for another hotel to stay at and ended up very happy at the Admiralty Inn. Whole situation ruined the vacation. Complained to the manager and requested cancelation and a refund. Manager promised to call me that day to confirm a refund, and did not. I had to call again one week later from home after my vacation.

Also, the location is not a plus, in cape cod you really need a car or bike to get around (beaches, site seeing, downtown, restaurant’s). There are a couple of restaurants and a ferry within walking distance, but there are better restaurants in town and the other ferry terminal at Wood's Hole offers later ferry hours to martha's vineyard and there are parking lots and shuttle buses too it throughout Falmouth.

The place is very poolrly run. There are two buildings, one with hotel rooms which is totally run down and a nicer one with timeshare suites. We understood from a hotel visitor that the timeshare was overbooked and people were being placed in the hotel instead. The place is really terrible.

“Terrible Experiance”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2009

I cannot believe that my wife and I fell for this scam, First let me start by saying the place is a complete dump, smells like an ashtray (should have known then) the sales people were probably the rudest people I have ever met. At one point the woman we were dealing with swatted my hand as I was checking the time on my phone. They lured us in by telling us we had one free airfare but when we arrived and told her we had no intetion of buying she would not take no for an answer and kept saying keep an open mind, but when I asked her about the free airfare her response was "I am not a travel agent and dont know anything about the airfare". I wish we had known it was a scam before we wasted an hour and a half listening to them try to pitch us a timeshare in a place that I would not want to step foot in let alone sleep at. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM AND DONT LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN IT IS.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
