Last year we came here for dinner off season, just after St Patrick's Day. The restaurant was buzzing, the servers friendly and the food fantastic, and so we were excited to come back again this year. We asked if we should make a reservation and were told that we wouldn't need to as it was a Tuesday. However, when we got there, the place was full and we had to sit out the back by the kitchen in the middle of the floor where the servers whisked by with trays of clean glasses and food every few seconds. There was an empty booth, but we were not shown to that.
I ordered the crab cakes as they were so delicious last time, and again they were great, however, my husbands steak was (in his words) indistinguishable from shoe leather which was very disappointing for him as he had been looking forward to it all day. After we had finished, we sat for 20 minutes waiting for our server, who had sat in a booth with a couple of customers and chatted for all that time. It felt rude to lean over and ask her for the check in mid-conversation. All in all, a little disappointing, but you never know, it could be better again the next time we go, if we go!
