“Enriched”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

Enriched, this is how your soul and mind feels after a visit to Captain Tom Lawrence House. Jim and Ann are wonderful hosts - or, better said, they become in a moment your long time friends, whom you missed!
I had the pleasure to stay there over Thanksgiving weekend, being lucky with great weather. Renting a bike accross the street gave me the opportunity to explore the now longer bike path - a mirrific ride along the woods, the marsh and the ocean....Coming back to the nice, calm room, with the comfortable bed, was like a dream... Breakfast was delicious as well!!
A definite place to come back to!
Ann and Jim are the warmth enriching your soul waiting for you!!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice - the road is not that busy, so...even if you face it, noise doesn't dist...

“ideal location and lovely inn keepers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

I stayed here with a friend for one night between a day on the Cape and a day on the Vineyard. You can't beat the location, it's a short walk into town and the Shining Sea bike path runs along the back of the property. We were there with our bikes and loved the convenience of both.

Our room on the first floor was spacious and comfortable. The decor may have been a bit too lacy and fussy for me, but it might be very appealing to others. As Anne warned us the toilet and shower were together in a very small space, with the sink in the bedroom. Good shower pressure although I had to divert the shower head to the side to lather up as there was very little room to maneuver in the shower stall so that the water kept cascading down as I tried to soap up. We're both pretty slender, so I think larger people might have a harder time in the shower.

Otherwise the room had a flat-screen TV, a mini fridge, a/c, a comfy chair for reading and nice towels. It was quiet and convenient being on the first floor. The bed was very comfortable, so we got a good night's sleep.

Anne and Jim helped us in with our luggage and were warm and welcoming. They gave us the scoop on using the keys, how to access the bike path and recommended some restaurants in town. Anne even had fresh baked brownies and lemonade on the side board in the dining room for hungry guests! I was impressed the next morning when talking to Jim during breakfast, he excused himself to drive a guest down to the ferry who he feared wouldn't make it without the lift!

Anne prepares the breakfast and with Jim's help they serve everyone in the dining room. The morning we were there we had fresh melons cut up served in sherbert dishes, flutes of orange juice, a generous slice of quiche, freshly baked muffins and plenty of fresh hot coffee. It was all elegantly presented and served. It was fun chatting with the other couple who sat at our table.

Since we were riding our bikes down to the ferry, they said it was fine to leave our car in their parking lot until we returned later that evening.

All in all a very pleasant place to stay, chat with the owners and with the other guests.

“A real treat to spend time in such a beautiful house,”

We have just spent 5 nights at this traditional Inn. The hosts Jim and Anne did everything to make us feel welcome. They helped with ideas for every aspect of our stay.
The Inn is immaculate with beautiful quality towels and linens--And the sheets were changed after 3 nights. A real treat. Every day you arrived home the room was immaculate
The bed is extremely comfortable and the blinds made for comfortable sleeping -- there is even a muffler to stop the light from the landing .
The shower was small in the Anaconda room but it was so clean and wonderfully poerful
It really did feel like a home from home and both Anne and Jim seemed genuinely interested in us and our trip.
The home cooked breakfasts were delicious and we particularly enjoyed the waffles and Jim's omelettes.

So thank you so much for all those wonderful things!
We were unfortunate enough to have our car damaged in the car park and think that polite signs asking everyone to pull as far forward as possible would be a great help. We arrived in the dark and our car was damaged first thing the next morning.
Also a hospitality area with a kettle would be a really wonderful addition -- just to make a cup of tea on your return to the inn.

Do not hesitate to stay here.

Room Tip: The Anaconda room does have a small ensuite -- but this was not a problem for us.

“Superb choice”

The location is very convenient for walking to Falmouth center for shopping or dinner, or taking a shuttle to the Island Ferry or the beach, or anything recreational. The inn is very nicely laid out -- the rooms are actually all square, unlike many B&B's that have rooms at odd angles with a crowded feeling. The inn owners at very professional, excellent hosts and serve a nicely done and relaxing breakfast. It's not the kind of high-end B&B where you'll come home with a bag of fancy soaps raving about eggs benny with lobster -- it's an charming, fine quality inn with gracious hosts in a location central to anything happening on Cape Cod.

“Fine place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2011

We stayed four nights at this fine B&B. Jim and Anne were very helpful and informative, both during our stay and before we arrived. Jim will take you to the 9:30 Woods Hole Ferry and the walk back from the ferry park lot is less than 15 minutes. They accommodated our dietary requirements with a fine breakfast each morning. We stayed on the first floor and had read that the shower was small. It is! If you are rotund, consider another room, but don't eliminate this B&B from your consideration. It's only a 10 min walk to "downtown" Falmouth and minutes away from the paved trail to Woods Hole. They provided a beach pass, chairs and towels for our afternoon at the beach. Jim also has ferry tickets to sell.

Room Tip: Our downstairs room wasn't noisy, but the shower would be a probably for a big person.
