from the moment we arrived we knew the visit would be not what we expected, they have no receptionist so we had to call and wait for somebody to arrive to check you in. We were greeted by a lady who was apparently living there she advised us that the hotel had a cat whicgh was allowed to roam around the rooms, my friend being allergic to cats was not ideal. The guy behind reception picked up on this and offered us another room. We could not stay in the room originally planned because of the cat hair so we had to accept the alternative. We then got shown to our room (complete with a cat) it was one matress on the floor with a couple of stained sheets next to a single bed, the room also consisted of a 'make doo wardrobe' a unit and flowers that looked like they belonged in a funeral parlour and a toilet seat that had splinters sticking out of the wood! The room also smelt strongly of paint, we had to sleep with the window open which wasnt ideal being -15 at the time!
The hotel is obviously a place to stay for the local homeless, elderly or those with financial problems. It wasnt a comfortable environment, and wasnt helped by the shabby decoration, and broken mirrors (heled together with sellotape) we wont be returning and we would urge others not to bother as it is a fair distance from Boston anyway.
