Filthy and not maintained. Carpet was shot years ago. At least a dozen big red stains in addition to the other stains. Dusted the room myslef as soon as I go int the room (and I am a male and not a clean freak). A couple broken shelves here, a couple of borken sheleves there, tiny TV, Fridge that opens the wrong way. Hallways that have the same filth day after day. Even the simple stuff is not done here. Total mismanagement. How difficult is it to get your cleaing crew to vacuum the hallway every day. NOTHING. Beyond greed just total stupidity.

We have stayed here several times in the past and always enjoyed a peaceful, restful place to relax while visiting friends and family in the area. The staff has always been friendly and helpful.
But we will never stay here again. It was noisy with kids jumping off furniture in the rooms upstairs, and running in the halls, loud voices and doors slamming. When we complained, the wonderful staff spoke to the parents, but there was little that they could really do because the place was filled with families from the shelters.
Yes, these families need assistance, but that does not give them the right to abdicate good parenting and teaching their children respect for other people and property.
Also, a new policy of ESA in Danvers will only allow reservations of 15 days or more. This will proclude most vacationers, except the long term people from the shelters.
I recommend if you are staying in the area north of Boston, and you need a nice, quite, peaceful environment, that you go somewhere else to stay.

Other than being a little tricky to get into (as other reviews have stated) I didn't have any serious problems with this hotel. The rooms were a little worn and dated, very basic, but were mostly clean and functional. I'd say "no frills" but they come with a full kitchen, try getting that at Days Inn or Motel 6 at the same price.

It's essentially a budget, side-of-the-highway hotel, which is good for short business trips or vacations on the cheap. Not really that close to anything, but not that far either.

I'd stay there again if I needed to be in the area for a few nights on business, but it might get aggravating being on vacation in Salem, Boston, or the Shore and needing to drive back and forth to this location every day. However, if you need to pinch pennies somewhere, this may be worth it for you.

RATING SCALE: My ratings are generally based on value vs money. Thus, sometimes a simple hotel will receive a 4 or 5, while a fancy hotel can rank a 1 or 2 if I don't feel it was worth the cost.

Also, a hotel can do everything right and still only rank as a 4, unless there's something really exceptional about it.

5 = Hotel gets everything right, and goes above and beyond.
4 = Hotel gets everything right.
3 = Hotel is acceptable value for money spent.
2 = Hotel isn't worth the money spent.
1 = Hotel should pay ME to stay there.

Noisey room, not very clean, bed was ok. But, it was nice to have a small kitchen area.
