“COMFORTABLE and CONSISTENT”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

You pretty much know what you are going to get when you check in to a Residence Inn and this particular one was no different: a clean, comfortable room and a good night sleep. This property has recently been updated.

Breakfast is complimentary and offered many choices.

The room was clean and had a sink, fridge, cooktop, dishwasher, and microwave. There was even a free microwave popcorn. There was no fire log to use in the fireplace.

“Great place to stay if you are in the North Shore area of Mass.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

Here in Boston on business. Decided to stay in the Residence Inn Marriott in Danvers, I was very pleased at what a nice hotel it was. I was here with one person and we stayed in the room with the 1 king sized bed, small living area, fireplace, kitchen and separate bath. Everything was clean and well maintained. Even though the room was small for all of that, as far as traveling and wanting a place to stay for a few days, it was plenty big enough. The kitchen was a good size and had full sized appliances. And they even have some dishes here. They will supply you with some coffee, sugar packs and salt and pepper. The rest is up to you. The bathroom was separate from the living area, so it was nice to be able to get dressed and not have to be in view of everyone else. The TV supplied is a flat screened HDTV. They are working on WiFi, but at the time of my visit, they still have Ethernet, My only problem my of my stay had to do with getting my internet to hook up to their internet, but it may have more to do with my computer, than their internet. Plenty of plugs at the desk to plug in your computer and chargers. Three different closets to put clothes and they do supply some hangers for you to use, Bed was very comfortable. I did not hear other guests while there. It is set up nicely that way. At night, I could hear some other trucks on the busy road that is behind the hotel, but it wasn't loud enough to keep me up. I only noticed it. Even though I had limited contact with staff, they were all very nice. They do serve free breakfast.

“Nice and easy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

Went to Topsfield, Mass. for a weekend to see family. Decided to stay at the Marriott Residence Inn because it was convenient and well priced and happens to be one of the nicer hotels in the area. Arrived and found that the entire hotel was renovated and they did a really great job. The rooms are nice and the spot where they served the complimentary breakfast was remodeled really nice as well. The staff was super friendly and tried to make each guest as comfortable as possible. They get high marks from me, will return again if in the area.

“Very disappointed on many levels”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

The rooms were spacious though the 2 bedroom rooms are actually loft style so there are no doors on the bedrooms compromising privacy. The rooms are dark and there is not a lot of natural light (surprising as their renovation could have included sky light windows). The internet connection is slow and temperamental and there is no wireless. The standard of cleanliness was poor; there were old blood stains on the sheets and several times it appeared they only came in to make the bed. It was tough finding parking most nights and there is only stair access which is not ideal if you have heavy baggage. After staying in the TownePlace the month before I figured the Residence Inn would be significantly better as it was 50% more per night in cost, though I couldn't see much of a difference between the two and am starting to lose confidence in the Marriott name.

Room Tip: Try another hotel

“Comfotable & Quiet Escape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

Summers are long in Texas, so we were looking to escape the October heat. Boston was wonderful and this hotel was a home away from home. This hotel was reasonalby priced, had large cofortable rooms, and very friendly service. I hope to return again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the highway.
