My husband and I had a relaxing getaway to Chatham over the New Year's weekend. We stayed at the Bradford for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is situated just off Main street. It is an easy walk to all of the cute shops downtown, so you don't have to worry about finding a parking spot. Though lots of the shops were now closed for the off season, several were still open. It's a quick drive down to the lighthouse and the beach.
Our room was well decorated an offered lots of space. We had a suite which consisted of a sitting room and separate bedroom. The sitting room had two comfortable chairs and a flat screen TV along with a charming little window seat with windows on three sides from which we could sit and look at the steeple of the church down the street and the passersby walking to the New Years events on Main street. The bath had a large jetted tub and separate shower. The bedroom was nicely furnished and spotless.
The main building had a cute little pub area which was decked out for the holiday and they supplied all kinds of noise makers and beads, etc for the final countdown. The breakfast was a nice continental breakfast in the dining room and included baked goods, coffee, lovely fresh fruit and Stonyfield organic yogurt (nice touch). The staff was very friendly and helpful in offering suggestions for things to do in the area, and for dining.
If you haven't been to Chatham in the off season, it's worth the drive for a quiet weekend in a beautiful little seaside town.
