“Best romantic retreat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I am overwhelmed by the service, ammenities and ambiance of this Inn! My husband and I had a civil cerermony Friday morning in Boston. As a newly wedded couple we retreated to the Captains House Inn, staying in the Lady Mariah room, to celebrate our nuptuals. It was an incredible experience! I had informed the Inn as to why we were staying, and they worked with my husband, myself and my mother, all unknowing that the other had contacted the Inn, to incorporate lovely, romantic elements into our stay. The Inn scattered rose petals in the room, presented us with tea in our room, recommended some fabulous restaurants and had a to-die-for breakfast. While we weren't bothered, it seemed everyone was aware of our marriage and congratulated us when appropriate. It felt so natural and amiable. Our only regret is not staying longer. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Room Tip: The Lady Mariah is a lovely room! It was the off-season and the entire wing was nearly vacant so it...

“So relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I would highly recommend The Captains House Inn to anyone who needs a quiet, relaxing stay at beautifully appointed Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Hiram Harding room which was so cozy with it's wood burning fireplace and big comfy bed. The breakfast room was lovely, windows on all sides, bright and sunny. The breakfast was delicious! English tea and bangers, yum!! We are looking forward to returning in the summer when the gardens are in bloom. Thanks for your pleasant hospitality!

“A Perfect Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Our first trip to the Captain's House was delightful. The staff was gracious and very efficient, our room was elegant yet comfortable, the food served at breakfast and tea was imaginative and deliciously prepared. When we made our reservation, they had sent us an extensive list of restaurants, with detailed descriptions of each. With difficulty we chose two, both of which were great. The inn staff made our reservations and we were greeted like special guests at each. We discovered the inn through Distinctive Inns of New England, an organization which has never steered us wrong.

Room Tip: Check the descriptions on website.

“My great Cape Cod stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Quite unexpectedly I had to go on a business trip to Cape Cod. I searched the internet for a place that looked warm and comfortable. Well, warm and comfortable it was!! The staff was really helpful with everything, and even helped me to find vegetarian food for dinner in the area. They made my stay far more than a business trip!
Breakfast was delightful, and my room was charming, cozy, and comfy. I even took photos of the room! Thanks to the entire staff for a great stay.
