My family recently spent two nights at the Blue Heron Farm. It's not a hands-on farm operation for the guests, but my kids (11/15) loved playing with the dogs and seeing the horses, goats, and barn cats. The property is huge, and would be great for hikers. Bill and Norma are gracious and intelligent hosts. They spent a lot of time explaining the details of their organic maple sugaring operation to us. There are five rental houses on the property. We stayed in the Cottage, which is a fully equipped (including full kitchen, outside gas grill, and washer/dryer) house that sleeps up to 8. It was a beautiful, peaceful place with all the comforts of home.
