Many colleagues and friends from the Boston Medical community enjoy escaping to the relaxing atmosphere of the Herring Run Motel in Buzzards Bay. The ambience is low key and charming. The rates are reasonable and it is very nicely maintained. The area is ideal for hiking, and access to excellent fishing in the canal and canoeing on the lake behind the motel is particularly enjoyable. We can’t wait to return.

“Loved the Herring Run Motel, Cape Cod”

We went to the Herring Run Motel on Cape Cod, and were delighted by its' quaintness and charm. A fabulous view of the Cape Cod Canal was directly in front of the Motel. From there the Herring come up through the run, right at the motel. Luckily we were there during their season. We saw thousands of them making their way to the large pond directly in the back of the Motel. We were told that it is the largest Herring Run on Cape Cod. There are motel rooms in the front, and we were able to stay in one of the cottages, right on the pond. By the way, we went fishing in the pond too. There are trails at the Canal and bike paths. Wonderfuly fishing right on the Canal, and we were lucky to get a number of good size stripers. You can take off and be at beaches in minutes, or wonderful historic sites. There is a variety of things to do, just moments away.
We hardily recommend it to couples, families, and fishermen. The manager was very helpful in helping us find some great things to do in the vicinity. Enjoy!! Diane
