The inn is a most attractive building, originally Isaiah Clark House, dating from 1780. There are seven bedrooms, each decorated and furnished in an individual style (e.g. nautical), and each with a private bathroom. But beware: some bathrooms are located across the corridor; so guests need to use the bathrobes thoughtfully provided. Everything is spotlessly clean.
The ambiance is very “at home”, with guests encouraged to sit in one of the public living rooms and to take advantage of the free tea, coffee, cold drinks, biscuits, sweets and nibbles available 24 hours a day. There is also free wifi and use of a laptop. The manager is most attentive, and provides a menu every evening for the delicious cooked breakfasts (different each day) which are available between 08.00 and 09.30.
Brewster itself is about a mile or so away, but as is often the case in America there isn’t really a town centre but just a small number of restaurants and tourist shops spread out along the main road. There is some good walking in the surrounding countryside.
