“check out was 11 am, we checked out 10:25am.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2010

My Husband and I wanted a day off from work and Home, so we booked this motel or what ever you may call it through Priceline.com.. We loved the Location it was easy to find. (we Nav it) It was up on a hill, one gets a glimpse of the valley. and not far from the exit.
In side, we had requested Nonsmoking, Well, the Elevator stopped on the what obviously smelled as a smoking floor. When I asked, the receptionist who was taking us up to our floor, she utter, "your room is on the right wing" as if the smoke was commanded not to flow to the right wing. We have always done a weekends getaway. This place I will never stay there again.

“I expected alot more for the price, would not stay here again.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2009

This hotel is not very close to the town centre and not easy to find. It is a short (2 minute) drive to a good mall with a few good restaurants.

The hotel itself was disappointing. I have stayed at Marriott Residence Inns before and expected something similar - it couldn't be further from this. There were no photos of the actual hotel on the website, just generic photos of plush, bright suites that looked absolutely nothing like what we got. The corridors had an overwhelming smell of cooking food. Luckily our room just smelt a bit musty but had an oppressive feel to it. The room was big with a small queen (double) bed and frayed carpet. There was a small kitchenette with fridge freezer and a small old TV. The bathroom had hair (use your imagination to guess where it looked like it came from!) all over the floor which was disgusting. No products were provided in the bathroom except a bar of soap.
There was no breakfast or even coffee provided in the lobby at all.

I chose this hotel because I wanted something better than a motel. In truth this is no different to a motel with the exception that the corridors are inside.

The staff were actually very friendly and helpful but couldn't make up for the poor quality of the hotel itself. I resent every penny of the incredibly overpriced $105 I spent on one night in this hotel.

“Worst Hotel I Have Ever Stayed At In My Life”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2008

Stay at this hotel if you like:
1. cockroaches in your kitchen cabinet,
2. Bed bugs (as evidence by lots of little red bites on my wife and myself),
3. the smell of pot (O.K. I liked that!) in the halls,
4. the most inattentive and uncaring staff ("roaches...well you have to expect that. People are messy and it attracts them"),
5. internet that works only occassionally,
6. a heater that worked not at all.

This happened to be on a business trip to the Boston area on November 10th. Needless to say I checked out the next morning.

If despite the warnings you do stay DO NOT complain. The manager, a guy named Robert, blames everything on you or your fellow travellers.

Stay at the Y, stay at a youth hostel, stay at Motel 6, sleep in your car at the local shopping mall...

Do Not Stay Here!!!!!

You have been warned.

“First time & I like it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2008

ExtendedStay America Boston-Braintree
20 Rockdale St, Braintree MA 02184 is 8 miles South of the Boston Convention Center. Go North on Summer St., to I-93 South [aka: Rt 1 & Rt 3) from the Convention Center. Traffic from the Conv Center after an event can take 1/2 hour to go less than a mile! Also, allow as much as an hour if going North into Boston in the morning. Accidents & road repairs can slow things down, as you know.

Date of stay 10/16-19/08
This hotel is conveniently located within 1/4 mile of the exit and entrance to the highway. Rockdale Street is off Granite Street and is almost across from Herb Chambers car dealership and up a short hill. There is a bank across the street and next door to the hotel is a Fedex/Kinkos Office store. That's real nice when you want to ship packages out as I did. Beyond the hotel, up the hill, are two office buildings. Area is quiet and safe. The South Shore Plaza shopping mall is about one-half mile south of the motel. A Shaw's Supermarket (Albertsons owns it) is 2.7 miles away and the front desk will give you print-out directions. You go past the shopping mall on state Rt 37 (Granite Street). And, when leaving the area, if you want to avoid the Boston traffic and head west, Rt 128 which goes to I-95 is nearby.

I found the room be clean, plenty large and the beds were comfortable, the recliner was a nice bonus that I rarely find in other motels. At the table, a secretary type office chair with wheels would have made it better. The heat was fine and seemed like there was a clean filter in it. I was able to open the window for some fresh air.
The TV was a typical 20" CRT...no LCD's here. Microwave was 700 watts (slow), but it had a turntable. The refrigerator was clean and would freeze things quickly.

They even provide dish towels. I always bring my own sponge (in a freezer zip bag) soaked in anti-bacterial soap, so I can wash the dishes before I use them. The bathroom was clean. Unfortunately, the light switch is tied into the exhaust fan. If you or your family likes a night light on (no stubbing of toes), bring your own, such as the mini-fluorescent ones sold for $10.00 at Home Depot. You can plug it into the bathroom shaver/drier outlet.

My room was quiet and the people I met at the hotel were fine. When there is a big convention most of the hotels & motels all around are sold out. For $110.00 a night, this is a good place to be.

I made a comment to the corporation headquarters which is:
"Your refrigerators should have the opening side next to the stove. Presently, they open next to the wall which is inconvenient. In other words, the hinge side should be the one next to the wall. Other than that, I will definitely return for more visits. You've got MainStay (Choice Hotels) beat by miles. Only problem is that there aren't enough of your hotel/motels."

  • Liked — Many of the features of home.
  • Disliked — Refrigerator door opens next to wall, not counter.

“Not so bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2008

I was a little nervous when I read the other reviews but this hotel was fine. No it's not the Ritz but it is located in a safe area and was clean. The only thing I noticed was dust on top of the fridge.

Booked on priceline for $48 and I would do so again in a blink!
