“Loud But Convenient”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

This hotel is bare minimum. It is a small hotel convenient to the heart of Waldorf. It has two floors but no elevator. The stairs were rough and filthy. Housekeeping had not completed stocking as there was no lotion, etc. with a 4pm check in. Perhaps they ran out of these toiletries.

The complimentary breakfast was mediocre. We were on the second floor and there was loud talking coming from the front entrance for hours late at night. I will not be staying here again.

my fiance and i booked a king size non smoking room with a recliner the day before our stay when we arrive to our surprise they had overbooked and the only had a smoking king size room at second floor, having no other choice we took the room, with all our luggage in hand i ask where's the elevator well there is no elevator. after going up the narrow stairs with all the luggage we walk into a very filthy room, we tipped the housekeeper so she can at least clean the bathroom. never before had i stayed in a hotel with the coffee pot plugged right next to the toilet above the toilet paper waste can. having so much space in room maybe next to microwave. well that coffee pot was not used by us! that night we killed a bug in the bed, we called front desk for new sheets and we had to go down the stairs to get them! breakfast was from 6-9 am we had to go to Dennys, i dont put alarm clock for breakfast while on vacation. the hotel policy was pet friendly for small dogs, walking down hall this guest with big rotweiler asked us and another guest to please go in laundry room while he passes my fiance said it was ok we will just walk by and the guest said no because the dog was not friendly! there were 2 other big dogs at hotel one of them looked like a bulldog. forget to say our room smelled like dog when we first walked in. i have phobia of big dogs so i was scared to go out my room alone. that last night we saw roaches near microwave and a big bug which we took pictures of and placed in a plastic bag and took to front desk. we spoke to manager and she wanted to give us a free night for a future occasion lol, no way! the gave us free rewards pointes and supposely they are going to wave the charges these are still pending. this has been the worst experience at a hotel, i would rate this -5, on the other hand customer service was very nice and understanding, they called pest control to clean room after we left

“Not again”

Upon arrival, we were told the room with a recliner that was reserved (the main reason for reserving at this hotel) was not available to us so we ended up in a much smaller room with no recliner but were charged the same price. When we got to the room, there were no trash cans, no toiletries as promised, only 2 pillows (like travel pillows) for a king sized bed, and the police were investigating something in the room across the hall. Apparently, a displaced woman and her teenaged kids were "living" there. They were constantly fighting and yelling in the hall. The breakfast was fine but needed a larger area for seating. The area of town was a bit questionable and was at least 15 miles from the Metro into DC. The room was clean enough but the housekeeping person may want to rethink his/her career choice...we had to ask for something they didn't put in the room or do everyday of our stay. I should have paid a little more and gotten a better place.

“Everything you hope for if you stay in Waldorf”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2011

Simply put, this motel saved us from the Waldorf Super 8, of which I've written a deservedly scathing review here. The LaQuinta was a great relief, it had a large, clean lobby and though you aren't technically supposed to check in until 11am or so, the two young women working at the front desk let us check in early in the morning as we fled the Super 8. They were so friendly and down to earth that they also let us eat our breakfast there immediately after checking in, and gave us some useful information about D.C. including the Metro Rail schedules.

The rooms were very very clean well maintained as one expects of any decent motel, and the building overall was quiet, with well-lit hallways.

Best of all, we barely paid more for each of the two nights we stayed here than we had paid at the disgusting Super 8, and our experience here was literally hundreds of times better. It's almost pointless to compare the two; It's like comparing a warm hug in the sunlight with getting sodomized in a damp basement. If you stay in Waldorf, I highly recommend you stay here.

“Nice room, HORRIBLE service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2011

I stayed at the LaQuinta Inn off of 301 in Waldorf, MD on December 18, 2010. My mother had surprised me with a one night stay at the LaQuinta Inn for my 23rd birthday. I came into the hotel that night with high hopes of enjoying a nice evening with my boyfriend but instead was met with nothing but attitude. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, the hotel attendant was extremely rude. The hotel attendant was in the middle of eating her Popeyes Chicken and when I was speaking to her, she would whisper the entire time so I would CONSTANTLY have to ask her to repeat herself. The entire time I was checking in, she didn't even have the decency to look me in my eye when I was talking to her. Then, when I asked her where the elevator was, she said, We don't have one in a nonchalant attitude and once again, she didn't look me in the eye when I was talking to her. The next day, when I went to complain about the individual, there was another female at the front desk with her hair half done who seemed to have an attitude as well when we were checking out the next morning. I don't know why I received all of the attitude, but it was enough to convince me to never stay at the LaQuinta Inn EVER AGAIN. The only positive thing that I can say about the hotel was that the room was VERY nice and clean. Besides that, I won't be wasting my money ever again at a hotel that doesn't give the best service that it possibly can from their employees/customer service.
