“Good for the price and location”

We stayed at the Comfort Inn Beacon Marina at 225 Lore Rd at Solomons, Md for one nite on October 24th. The location was very good and we enjoyed walking around the Marina. We were able to walk to the Captain's Table for lunch, which was very good. In reading the hotel information, it stated it was within walking distance of shops and restaurants....we found that stretching it a bit. Most of the restaurants, museums and shops are along Solomons Island Road....it would a mighty long walk! We had dinner at the Pier Restaurant, which provided us with a fabulous view of the sunset. The food was good, but didn't like having to drink out of plastic glasses. Our room was spacious, clean and had a comfortable chair! The bathroom was very small. The bed was sooooooo comfortable and we loved the pillows. The hotel is older, but has been maintained; we rate it as an average place to stay. The continental breakfast was typical. The price was below $100. We thoroughly enjoyed the Annemarie Sculpture Garden and the two art exhibits inside the building. We wanted to see the cliffs, but we would have a 2 mile walk to the beach and then who knows how far to the cliffs. So, we only walked a mile into the forest, which was lovely....beautiful, serene, enchanting; then, we returned to the parking lot. We didn't visit the Marine Museum or the Oyster House, but will do so on our next visit....truly sorry we didn't have time on this trip. Also, we had a good meal at the CD Cafe.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the marina.

Room was clean and the price was right. Beds were comfortable. Staff is very nice and polite. If you go to CD Cafe don't forget to mention you are staying here because you will get 10% off your restaurant bill.

“A very nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

We decided last minute to take a trip Labor Day weekend and they had availability. The hotel was right on a dock and we could see all the boats from the parking lot. Outside pool looked nice but we did not go in the fence for a good look. The hotel was clean and the front desk staff was very nice. Its a very small hotel. The furnishings were a little dated but nothing terrible. Our room had a very damp musty smell to it but I am figuring that is because 1) its near water and 2) the weekend before our stay was when Hurricane Irene came up the East Coast. So I will overlook that and maybe just to be safe ask for a room on the 2nd floor next time. They had a very nice complimentary breakfast in the morning. Overall for the price I was extremely satisfied and would stay there again!

“A Great Value for the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

I took a vacation this summer which included several stops with Solomons Island, Maryland being about the halfway point for the way up and back. After reading the reviews of this hotel I decided to stay there on my way up as it was going to save me about $80.00 as opposed to the hotel I usually stay in.
It is an older hotel and not as fancy as others in the area, however, it was a very pleasant surprize. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were extremely warm and helpful. They do have a small pool and whirlpool outside to enjoy which were clean and very nice. Across the parking lot is the Captains Table restaurant which serves a great breakfast and lunch and is very convenient to the hotel. They also have a bar and outdoor seating if you want to wander over for an evening drink.
If you enjoy walking, the hotel is within walking distance of the island and shares a driveway with the maritime museum which is fun to see.
All in all it was very pleasant and a great value for the price and would recommend it if you want a good basic clean comfy place to stay.

“Good value, nice marina, overall decent, nothing fancy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

This Comfort Inn is a bit older than some, shows some wear and tear, but is overall a good value, a decent hotel with good service. and it works just fine for a short business stay. It is nIcely located beside a marina with a seafood restaurant, so this may be a good choice for fishermen, or someone who enjoys the water. Breakfast was good, fresh continental variety of items with hot waffles.
