I've stayed here two times so far and have really enjoyed the new DoubleTree (formerly the Hilton). The front desk attendant is friendly and gets you checked in quickly--plus you get a warm chocolate chip cookie at check in!
During both visits, I stayed in the 2 room suite. It was very spacious with a living room and a separate bedroom. The sofa in the living room converts to a full size bed and it was surprisingly comfortable. Since this hotel has been recently renovated, everything seems brand new. The decor was neutral and modern in the room and throughout the hotel.
Both the living room and bedroom have huge floor to ceiling windows. Unfortunately, the view is less than stellar. The hotel seems to be connected to two office buildings so when you open your windows, you're basically looking into someone's cubicle. Since it was the weekend, the offices seemed vacant so I was able to keep the curtains open and enjoy some sunshine.
The beds here are absolutely amazing. Had some of the best sleep ever thanks to the pillowtop mattress and about six down-filled pillows. I also couldn't hear a thing from the other guests--no slamming doors, no one talking in the hall or in their room. Either the walls were fantastic or the entire floor was vacant.
There are flat screen t.v.'s in both the living room and bedroom. Having a large armchair and ottoman in the bedroom was great so that I wouldn't have to always eat or watch t.v. in bed (or at the desk in the living room).
There is a small alcove in the bedroom leading to the bathroom. It has a long granite counter, a huge mirror and a leather stool--makes it perfect for sitting down to do your hair or make up. The bathroom wasn't so great. Everything seemed to have been renovated with the exception of the showerhead and tub faucet. The tub is also quite tiny and I had trouble with the tub stopper. I also wish the towels had been better; seems like they just kept the old Hilton towels. I was also surprised to not find a robe as the other DoubleTree hotels I've stayed at have had them.
The MP3/alarm clock was a nice amenity, I utilized it frequently throughout my stay. Although it would have been nice to have a better quality speaker dock considering they aren't very expensive. The wi-fi was another amenity I used a lot and it was complimentary.
The room service meals were very good and the attendants brought everything quickly. A 19% gratuity for room service meals is included which was a bit confusing for me considering there was also a space on the bill to add a tip.
Overall, the DoubleTree was a great hotel in terms of location and value. A bathrobe, higher quality MP3 dock and better views would have made the stay 5-stars.
