“Sensational Relaxation..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Inn from Jan 21-Jan 23 to celebrate his birthday..We stayed at the Zen cottage and it was WONDERFUL..The Innkeepers Jim and Joanne were away and we had the pleasure of Amy being our host..She was phenomenal..She was so helpful and the food was sooo good..That bread pudding was definitely a great thing to have on the menu.lol..There was only one other couple there and we all had a GREAT breakfast and nice conversation. The cottage was just beautiful..We wanted peace quiet and relaxation and thats exactly what we got..The weather was pretty cold and slushy and still the grounds were so pretty..We are DEFINITELY going back.. The people in town were so friendly and helpful.. We highly recommend this Inn to all :-)

Room Tip: We stayed in a cottage because it was just my husband and I and we wanted a romantic setting with ju...

“No Complaints”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We enjoyed our stay (Fri. and Sat. nights, MLK weekend). Jim and Joanne are perfect hosts, our cottage was the perfect living area, and the location is the perfect place for relaxing. There are no McDonald's, Burger Kings, KFC's, Walmarts, Targets, or Starbucks. Every place is a mom and pop and everyone treated us with extreme kindness.

For the sake of brevity; we have nothing negative to say about any part of our stay!

We have already made plans to return in 4-5 months.

“Wonderful & very pet friendly hosts, accommodation, and location for a relaxing vacation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Joanne and Jim are super hosts that establish a relaxing environment and make it look easy. We enjoyed being able to bring our city dogs to the coast and enjoy the vast farmland and dockside area. Everything was very clean in our pet-friendly cottage and in the common areas. The breakfasts were well prepared and fresh. The hosts gave us wondeful recommendations for where to go to eat and this is not a small feat in the off season. Every recommendation was well made! This was our first time staying at an American bed and breakfast but we have years of experience traveling worldwide staying everywhere from Thai b&bs to Japanese ryokans, European hostels and the finest hotels. This was a wonderful weekend spent at Hunting Field, we plan to return again!

“The Inn didn't live up to the other reviews.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

Our kitchen is being renovated, so we thought it would be great to get away for a couple of days. We read many top-scoring reviews about "Inn at Huntingfield Creek" here on Tripadvisor, so we rightfully thought this would be the place to go. We arrived 12/27/11 and departed 12/29/11. The owners were away and we were checked in by other folks who work there. We stayed in the main residence, not a cottage. Many great aspects to this Inn, which are:

Phenomenal area. When you pull onto the expansive driveway going to the Inn, you are immediately secluded. The property is immaculate, rustic, and every other superlative that would describe how lovely it is. We were greeted by the three beautiful, resident dogs who, after vying for our attention (and got it) went on their merry way. The Inn itself is spacious, well appointed with a gorgeous gathering room filled with books, beverages of all sorts, a warm, inviting pot-bellied stove to chase away the chill and a view of the rest of the property that is beautiful. The rooms are extremely clean, very spacious and comfortable.

Breakfast was unimpressive and seemingly obligatory. There were very average scrambled eggs with dots of cheese, bacon, cold toast, (only a couple of slices were whole-grain) a bit of fruit and yogurt and a breakfast Danish that was cut into small pieces. It was boring. No alternatives such as cereal, waffles, pancakes or the like. Also, we were concerned that, although you can lock yourself into your room for the night, no room keys were given out and our room remained unlocked while we were out for the day. Everything was fine, but I'd at least like the facade of knowing that my room is locked when I'm not in it. Also, there is no "tidy" service for the room unless you ask for it.

We will not return.

Jim and I scheduled a quick personal getaway after Christmas. At the last minute we had to find a sub for our regular innsitter. With little training, she did her best but not satisfactorily for guests who expected us to live up to our reputation as foodies. We will make darn sure that never happens again. We have contacted these guests and offered our profuse apologies.
Breakfast is a huge part of what we do best!

“A relaxing getaway close to home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

Less than 2 hours from Baltimore, the Huntingfield Creek was a perfect getaway for a Fall weekend. Great cottages and rooms. We chose the Pond Cottage which was very comfortable and secluded. It was well decorated with a fireplace and Whirlpool. Very relaxing!!! Rock Hall is 1 minute away and offerred plenty of food and drink and nice shops. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet retreat. Thanks Jim and Joanne, we had a great time.
