“Good place for the money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

This was an okay nothing great Motel - Rooms were decent - clean - TV worked well as did refrigerator - continental breakfas was not all that good though but for the amount of money it costs - not so bad. pool was okay nothing great -

Overall this was a very average motel where everything worked well - No it did not have hot tubs in rooms or in their pool area - Did not have a huge resort area for recreation - Also had average frunishings - BUT for under 100 dollars a night - IT was FINE.

The kind of place I stay in when passing through an area - like I was - Next time though I will stay closer to ocean city and on the beach - Only used this place to go there for the day. Still fine for just stopping in on a trip between destinations

“ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

I took my daughter and her friend for the night so we could go to O.C. on July 4th. There were flies EVERYWHERE (especially where the food was). My phone was broke in my room they never fixed it. We went to have breakfast the day of check out, which is supposed to be ready at 630a, it was 640a, no breakfast and there was a note on the door to ring the bell for assistance. I did and the guy came to the door in his pajamas! He said there was no breakfast and took my key and left - no thank you for staying, no apology, no offer of a discount on the room, nothing....i would NEVER stay there again nor recommend anyone to. Econo Lodge should do something about this place! There name is associated! Horrible.

“Disgusting and worse place ever”

I stayed here to visit some people and the room they checked me in to was filthy. So I went to complain and they gave me room 119. I got down there and thought it was much better but i was soo wrong. There were dead flies on my bathroom floor and bed bugs. I woke up the next morning with bug bites all over me. Never stay there unless you want to be feasted on by bugs.

“Good value, excellent location for nearby college”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2011

Stayed 2 nights. Room had previously been a smoking room so the smoky smell still lingered, however, after being in the room for awhile, that dissipated. Room was large enough, though slightly dated. Staff was attentive when we called for slight issue with flushing of toilet. Breakfast was adequate for travelers.

“Don't stay!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2011

The EconLodge in Princess Anne, MD is by far the worst place you can stay. Spend a few more dollars and stay somewhere else. I was in room 103 with my daughter-in-law and 2 graddaughters, ages 1 and 2. When we initially walked in the room it smelled of old wet socks. I had to leave the door open and place an air freshener thingy that you use in your car in the air conditioner to try and get rid of the smell. The rugs are very old and no amount of vacuuming will clean them. They need replacing. The filth has seeped down into the carpet pads. If you walk on the floor in your barefeet you will feel the stickiness and dampness. The bathroom toilet was not securely adhered to the floor, it moved around when you sat on it. The tub had large cracks in it and it was very dirty. The seats that were in the room were very old and just as dirty as the carpets. The refrigerator freezer was in need of defrosting. I was not able to put anything in the freezer. The iron did not heat up. And the water from the faucet, toilet and tub was yellow. When I asked the Manager about the water color, he said that is the color of the water there. Really? You may be asking why I didn't leave, well it is because I had travelled 7 hours with small kids and was too exhausted to do anything but sleep. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the sheets were clean, so I did get to sleep peacefully. Or so I thought. The next morning I found 3 red bumps on my side and back. It turned out that there were spiders in the room and I was bitten by them as I slept. They bites became very red, swollen with burning pain. The drive back to NC was filled with excrutiating pain. I have contacted my physician since I have been home to schedule an emergency appointment today for medication and an assessment. The pictures that they are showing on their website is not of the pool, or of the rooms. This is really a crappy place. They are providing the minimal in service, but the thing that gets me the most upset is that the place has no hygienic quality. I wish that hotels got rated for cleanliness like restaurants do. If so, this place would be shut down. Also, the TV in the lounge is always on an Indian channel. This is America! When I have my coffee in the morning I would like to see American news, not Bollywood. I will pay extra and stay in a hotel that is clean and accommodating. People who frequent this place obviously have not been exposed to things of class.
