Very nice and clean Hotel. Very soft and comfortable mattresses and pillows. The staff was excellent and the hot breakfast in the morning was excellent. However the shower head was full of mineral deposits which directed more water away then it provided. The walls were very thin and I was woken up several times at the early hours due to slamming doors. Even though this was a nice hotel it defeated the purpose of sleeping.

I am a seasoned traveler of 5 years and this was absolutely the dirtiest room I have every walked into. To my amazement, the bathroom door had fecal matter smudged on the door... seriously, fecal matter... at least they kept it in the bathroom, but if the cleaning crew missed that the ideas of what else they missed would keep you up at night. Not surprisingly, the towels were all dirty with yellow to brown to red spots, and the bed sheets looked as if a female wookie had spent the night and was having her shark week... I mean come on! Are these really such demanding things? Clean towels, a bathroom door free from fecal matter, and a clean bed?

In 5 years, I haven't really written reviews for hotels, but this one was so bad that I have to warn anyone attempting to stay here. Run now! In fact run across the street to the Springhill Suites... it's like night and day...

Yes, as an SPG member I do tend to be biased BUT...I was surprised at the condition of my room and the hotel staff. This hotel is supposed to be fairly new, which made it even more disappointing. My bathroom tub was dirty, the shower curtain was dirty, and the extra blanket was dirty and full of some other guests hair. I would not stay there again, nor would I recommend to anyone. The manager was very friendly, but when I had a question later in the evening, I had to wait for the staff while they watched TV in plain view in the guest common area.

I did not notice any musty or foul odors in the hotel. However, the wallpaper was peeling off in several areas of the room, as mentioned in previous reviews. The sink stopper was broken and the caulking behind the faucet was coming off the wall. There were also hairs in the bathroom - around the sink and some stuck on the door. Otherwise, the halls, and common areas, were very clean and kept. My major problem during my stay was the slamming of doors by other guests. The hotel should put stronger hinges on the doors to prevent this from happening. Also, while the bed linens were soft, and everyone can appreciate the HI Express policy of comforter-less bedding, the bed was beyond a doubt the hardest I have ever slept on. Do you know at department stores, when they set up displays to show comforters, etc on those hard wooden squares that are supposed to resemble a mattress? Those would be softer than the mattresses in this hotel. I honestly thought I was sleeping on the box spring instead of the mattress. I woke up several times during the night with my entire body in pain because of the firmess of the beds. The rate was high as well as for over $100 a night, one could also stay across the street at the all-suite Marriott for the same price, or less. Staff was friendly. Prince Frederick is a beautiful area to stay in Southern Maryland - I would shop around the other chain hotels in the area for a better price and better beds.
