“Outstanding.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2011

I am actually writing this review from the combs berry's library, seated on a comfortable leather couch by the fire with an outstanding view of the water. This b&b is precisely as described on the web page; a well-maintained 18th century manor house with several outbuildings. The inn's public spaces are inviting and charming. Our room was cozy, with a working fireplace and breathtaking water views. Breakfast was delicious and fresh, and Abby was a delightful innkeeper. One of our better b&b experiences on the eastern shore. Highly recommended, and we will return soon.

We got married at Combsberry on September 10 and couldn't have had a more perfect day. The Inn in on a beautiful secluded inlet off the bay. The owner and caretaker couldn't be more accomodating. The rooms are beautiful, large and clean. Stay here you won't regret it.

“Our most beloved B&B trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

My husband and I stayed at Combsberry in August of 2010. We had been in correspondence with the Innkeeper, Abby, for weeks prior to our arrival. She was so pleasant on the phone and via our email correspondence, that we were not surprised that she was just as lovely in person. We stayed in the Oxford Cottage, a free standing house on the property. The Cottage is gorgeous - with a wood fireplace, kitchen, jacuzzi, queen size bed and the most amazing view around. The shelves of the cottage are stocked with various books, games and Abby left us some fresh baked cookies in our kitchen. My husband and I only left the property in the evenings for dinner in Oxford. Otherwise, we were content exploring the houses and grounds, crabbing on the dock, watching the ospreys nest, playing with the resident Cocker Spaniels or reading in the hammock by the water. Breakfast was served in the Main Manor House, built in 1730!!! The house has original hardwood floors, fireplaces, etc. It is absolutely stunning and for history buffs such as us - we couldn't get enough of it. Now, not only is Abby a complete charmer but the girl can cook! She whips everything up from scratch and does so with a shrug of the shoulder. Our first morning she treated us to Sweet Potato Biscuits and Gravy, Locally Grown Berry Smoothies and Cinnamon Steusel Muffins. Day two - Cranberry Rhubarb Crisp with Honey Cinnamon Frozen Yogurt, Brown Sugar Bacon Twirls and Fruit Salad with Lime Ginger Dressing. Even though my husband and I have been married for 30 years, this felt like a second honeymoon for us and we often talk about the weekend there with much nostalgia. Everything that could have been offered to us, was, and Combsberry exceeded our wildest dreams. We will return soon, and we are hoping Abby will still be there to make us laugh with her various tales of life as a newcomer to the glorious Eastern Shore.

“Unbelievably Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

My husband and I were married at Combsberry on September 18, 2010 and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We checked in on the morning on the 17th and began setting up for the weekend festivities after checking in to our rooms. Each room at the Inn has it's own bathroom and all are very cozy and quaint. Beds are comfortable and the views are amazing as each room faces the water. As we began to coordinate things for the rehearsal on Friday evening and the wedding for Saturday we would find ourselves distracted by the amazing scenery. It took us much longer to set up for the party because we found ourselves staring out onto the water and enjoying the wonderful location. One of the most attractive aspects of Combsberry is its location. Tucked back off a small country road, the Inn sits at the tip of an inlet of the Chesapeake Bay surrounded by dense woods and sporadic houses also backing up to the water. The many windows of the three houses of the Inn (the Manor House, Carriage House and Oxford Cottage) give you a great view of the lawn and water no matter which room you find yourself in. The grounds are also well kept and groomed. My favorite spot is the hammock tied to the trees right on the bank of the water where more than a few naps were taken in the three days we were there. Another big reason we had such a memorable weekend was the effort of the Combsberry staff, particularly Abbie and Megan. As soon as we checked in they were making sure we were comfortable and had everything and anything we needed. They were more than helpful with helping us with preparations for the weekend events and were really knowledgable about the area and where to find things we needed. And what wonderful cooks! I think my husband's favorite part of the weekend was having breakfast in the fabulous kitchen with family and friends and enjoying the great spread that Abbie and Megan put out. I think he may have eaten both of the delicious quiches that Abbie made if his stomach would have allowed him to! The girls were also unbelievably helpful in coordinating with all the professional services (caterer, DJ, photographer, etc.) Abbie even went into town and bought extension cords when the caterer didn't have enough. Needless to say we would not have had such a great weekend without their help. I have to say that our wedding weekend was more than we could have hoped for and turned out better than we could have imagined. The setting and the support were two parts that cannot go overlooked or appreciated more. I don't know how many of our friends and family told us that it was the best venue for a wedding they had seen. A big thanks to Combsberry for a dream come true!

“Awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2010

Combsberry is a beautiful & peaceful getaway nestled right on the bay - best bed & breakfast we've ever stayed at. It is so close the DC area, yet when you're there you feel worlds away from busy life - it is so quiet and in a terrific location to town or a short ferry ride to St Michaels. The grounds are spectacular.. In the main house the rooms are large and comfortable. Best part is having breakfast in the huge kitchen that has windows that span the back of the house and overlook the water. The inn keeper & owners are terrific people, very friendly and you definitely won't be disappointed in the food that is made for breakfast - DELICIOUS. The town of Oxford is so cute & quaint. There is a fantastic park right on the water which is a great place to take kids or enjoy an ice cream from the Scottish Creamery - best ice cream in MD.
