“OK place for business, not that impressed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

I have stayed here twice for work and it is just so - so. The second time I got to my room, unpacked and was getting ready to jump in the shower when I opened the door to the bathroom and there was water everywhere. It was leaking from the light fixture. They got me another room but I had to repack first, which was just really annoying. I actually like their breakfast, but they do not have a lot of extras for business travelers, like a reception with snacks and drinks. The one day, I was checking in and there was a screaming child somewhere. Not in the lobby, but I suspect maybe one of the workers had their child with them? It was very odd and uncomfortable. I hope I don't have to stay there again.

“Dirty - Shouldn't be under the hyatt brand”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

Stuck in some unusual neighborhood this hotel appeared ok, but from the moment I exited our car I knew we were in for an interesting night. Rapp music played from the speakers above the front lobby door and the place smelt odd. Check in requests were met with a frown - I was asking for a nice view as it was our 1st wedding anniversary, knowing the hotel was not busy I assumed there maybe a nicer room available - we received top floor end room which had an ok view. Propably the best u cld get considering the area...shame the entire floor smelt? Was it cleaning products? Who knows....our room smelt different...causing my husband to sneeze uncontrollably. All night The smell was musky stale it wasn't very pleasant. My husband looked behind the curtain and the entire wall was mouldy. The bedside bench hadn't been whiped or cleaned. Looks like someone had spilt a case of rum n coke on the carpet...it was still sticky to walk on. The air con in the room helped, but was noisy and too cold. Bathroom hadn't been bleached with mould n dirt in the bath an cnrs.

We wanted to have a swim but no. The indoor pool was cold. No one but the pool attendant was there. Felt like we wearnt welcome.

Breakfast. Omg. Sausage and gravy isn't cooked fresh just heated and don't look under the bench in the cupboard as I think I detected rat marks.

Then miss rude waltzes in to take away the breakfasts ordering us to take our dirty plates to this bench etc. Huh....my husband did it....but how come she tells us the guest wot to do where as the other staff member calls out 'leave that...we will clear it'. Felt like we were eating in some homeless kitchen.

From he Noisy road thru the night. To the horrid room smell. I cldnt sleep So I turned on the tv which is a lovely size. Beautiful picture....

The room was like a suite but the couch was grubby foam was falling in the middle and shld be thrown out.

This hotel is not hyatt standard. It should be withdrawn from their brand. This hotel is apprx 100 bucks a nite and I seriously wld suggest it reprice now to 60 ish a night. It was horrible and our first wedding anniversary was spoilt because of this place. Wish I had of gone somewhere else

“Okay, but nothing special.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

Spent one night here on a business trip. It was slightly lower in quality than the average Hyatt Place and other similar hotels. The staff was nice and the bed and TV were great, but the carpet and bathtub had stains, the cordless phone didn't work at all, and there was trash laying around the public hallways. I also wasted 5 minutes looking for an ice machine... after searching my floor (2nd) and then despite a sign on the 1st floor that pointed right for 'ice and vending', I finally found the only ice machine on the 3rd floor.

Then in the morning I was annoyed by the fact that the breakfast didn't officially open until 6:30, and despite being almost fully 'up' when I got there at 6:20, they kept the lights off in there to keep people out until that 6:30. I had to on the road by 6:30, so it would have been nice to allow me in to grab something to take with me (as they do at other properties). I can't be the only one that has to get on the road so early.

“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

We were very happy with our stay there. When we checked in, we were asked if we had ever been at this location before and the lady asked us if we wanted a tour - we declined. She pointed out where the elevator was and where breakfast would be in the morning. Room was huge! Beds were very comfortable, room was clean and quiet (although we sleep with the fan on). Only complaint was more channels are needed on the TV. For dinner, we went to Hibachi Grille Buffet, huge, cheap and pretty darn good!

“Exceptional Room and Great Service, with a few Quirks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Hyatt Place in Owings Mills. The room was luxurious, modern, clean, and comfortable. The staff was professional, friendly, and one of a kind; we have never had a hotel employee offer to provide us with a tour of the facilities/amenities. Also, the check-in was extremely fast... three minutes!

Morning breakfast provided a lot of variety and was really well down.

As far as quirks: the hotel front desk wrapped around to the coffee bar/adult beverage bar. It was a little odd getting checked-in, while man was mixing a drink and a latte.

Bonus: Our stay happened to coincide with the Baltimore Ravens' training camp, and the Ravens were staying at this very hotel!
