“Nice hotel, Nice pool and hut tub room was clean bathroom was clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

I stayed at this hotel during December 2011 and I must say everything was clean and nice. The pool and hot tub was very nice, they did take down the water attraction they had inside the pool area, it was a mushroom lookalike that had water coming out. The room was very clean and the bathroom was clean also. I must say there was no holes in the ceiling in the bathroom or room because I have seen that at other motels and even hotels in Ocean City before. I can say the shower was very clean no mildew or nasty stains as I seen before in previous hotels/motels but then again it could only be in our room that was so clean at the hotel. I did see minor water damage on the walls and along the base board of the room but you gotta take the good with the bad and that was just a minor I can over see while staying at places in Ocean City, And I have stayed worst at other places with much more cosmetic damaged to the rooms like water and mildew smells in the room. This is my honest opnion and I will be coming back in August 2012 to stay again.

“Winter Get-Away”

This is our second time staying at the Fenwick Inn-- Last time we weren't really impressed but since they allow pets, and had no choice but to take them.. we decided to try it again. To our surprise, the place has been updated quite a bit. Our room was a corner room and had plenty of space for our dogs crate (he's over 100lbs) and yet enough room for our 2.5 year old son to play. The room was clean, had no odors to it. The pool was wonderful, my son enjoyed being in there every night. We booked the stay friday and saturday get sunday free and it was a great price for us. You have to expect to be getting what you paid for. We stayed for about $200, if you wanted a 5 star resort-- go stay at the hilton for 200 a NIGHT (in the offseason) No the place isn't perfect but it was very clean this time around. Had no issues what so ever. Would def. go back again!

“so-so”

We stayed at the Fenwick Inn for Thanksgiving. We got a great deal. $66 per night and this included dinner for two at their buffet on Thanksgiving and $12 vouchers for breakfast.
The room was clean. They could use a bit of updating especially the windows could use some draft protection and I wish there was a vent in the bathroom and a guest laundry. We had some issues with the tv remote working properly and our door key but nothing serious was wrong with the room. The pool was great. Our son loved it and wanted to go in it every night. The pool does get full and so does the hot tub but there was room and lots of tables and chairs. The last night we stayed there the hotel was having a problem with the fire alarms and they went off three times. On the second time a customer expressed his concerns and the two ladies at the front desk did not handle it well and were rude. They kept telling us everything was ok, it was just a short in the wiring in the kitchen but that didn't sound safe and the complaining customer said he was going to call the fire marshall. Our son was upset and scared about the fire alarms going off and wanted to leave that evening. It is my understanding that the fire marshall did show up and the alarms did not go off the rest of the evening. The restaurant at the hotel had issues. They seemed understaffed and just not sure what they were doing. We were told at check inn that we should have been called to make reservation for dinner but we were not so we got in for dinner at 7 p.m. The buffet was not impressive and the service was no better. Our waiter was friendly but lacked the knowledge a waiter needs to serve...he didn't even bring us silverware and we couldn't get soda because it was being changed.

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor allow dogs off-season

“Stay Away”

First and last stay at Fenwick Inn. Got there Thanksgiving day and was booked into a room that smelled of old cigarette smoke that was so overpowering that it sickened my wife. The guy at the front desk was really and truthfully helpful in making a considerable effort to find us a better room, and even let us check out 3 rooms before picking one. The first possible replacement was nearly as bad as the first. The next had a clearly damaged TV that (surprise) did not work. Finally settled into the 4th room, managed to get thru the night, only to find that the shower had no hot water the next morning, though the sick did. Literally, the hot water did not even flow to it other than a trickle! Call to the front desk was met with a perfunctory "maintenance will look into it" response from the woman on the other end of the phone. Not long after that we checked out, Do not waste your time or money. This place was supposed to be undergoing renovation, but clearly none of that has happened yet and may never. Won't ever go there again to find out.

“Rates were good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Okay so it was off-season - even though - the rates were great and they allow doggies! The pet rooms are on the second floor - I hear that there will be a major renovation on floors 2 thru 5 - floors 6&7 have already been renovated - then I hear the pet floor will be moved to the 7th floor, which I personally like since the views will be great - the only drawback would be: you will be right under the bar and restaurant. Oh well, can't have it all! I ate at the restaurant and thought it was very delicious. I had the delmonico steak with truffle gravy - wow, that was tasty! I didn't go swimming in the indoor pool and I hear they have a jacuzzi! The hotel is in a great location, walk across to the beach, Phillips seafood restaurant nearby, lots of restaurants, close to rehoboth, and if you need a vet, Savannah vet is super.
Charles at the front desk was very helpful and nice. I think once the hotel is renovated, it will be right up there! I just hope they put down wood flooring or ceramic in the pet rooms.
