“Good rates and very clean”

Have stayed there for 20 years. Rooms are very clean and reasonable rates for OC. Ocean front rooms have terrific view and are much cheaper than any we have found. Location foe walking is great, and the beach in front of the hotel is very large. Only problem this year was scratchy towels. Complained when checking out and manager was to follow up-said maids were using too much bleach???

Room Tip: Ocean front rooms are on the boardwalk and very clean. Only negative thing this year were the bath t...

“Great location”

Cleanest bathroom in a hotel/motel ever! It looked pretty new so I am sure it was recently updated and it was the cleanest bathroom in a hotel or motel I have ever used.

I loved the location of the motel being so close to the boardwalk and the beach.

WiFi coverage was spotty and I was able to get a stronger signal from the Spinnaker across the street.

My one complaint is they need better blankets! The one I had was certainly circa 1970 and smelled like it too.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful as was the housekeeping staff.

“Clean, Comfortable.....Nice Place to Stay!!!”

After cancelling our first reservations at "The Ambassodor Inn" because of bad reviews about 3 weeks before, we were lucky to get 2 rooms at the Sahara. Friends stayed there and they liked it, and the reviews were pretty good. We started out with 2 separate rooms in the tower building which was across the street from the boardwalk. We were looking for adjoining rooms but at such late notice we weren't surprised that we couldn't get them. It was my husband & I, our 2 girls (6&3), and my mom and dad. When we got there, we were able to get 2 rooms (about 6 rooms apart) in the poolside building which was right behind the ocean front building, with a great pool right below us. So we didn't have to walk across the road to get to the boardwalk. They said the one room would have no veiw, but we were very happy with it because it was at the front of the building and we had extra railing space to hang our towels and the way the steps were we had almost a private balcony. We were on the 3rd floor and unfortunately did not have an elevator (my fault for not asking first, the tower building did have one). The staff was very friendly, the rooms were nice and cozy. The wifi worked great!!!! We tried out both pools and we loved them both. And the cafe was excellent also!!!! CONS: Cable blinked out a couple times but came back in a few minutes, and we had a big bright yellow light right outside our room (309) that came in around the curtains so our room was not completely dark at night. The only thing i would have liked better was if they had queen beds instead of double. After sleeping in a king bed at home, having to share a double was not comfy. I did love their pillows though. I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We checked in 9/11 and on 9/14 the bikes started coming for bike week. Would def recomend avoiding...

“Great motel”

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend of his birthday. The people at the front desk are very friendly. We stayed in the tower building overlooking the pool. We could see the ocean waves right from our window. We stayed in room 441. The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was also very clean no mold or anything. The room was overall in great condition. It has a tv, microwave, and fridge. It was very quiet all around us. Its in a perfect place just a street away from the boardwalk. I looked up many hotels to stay in and i'm so glad we chose this one we didn't have one bad experience here so lucky. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone especially if your trying to find a pretty cheap hotel in a great location.

Wi-fi refused to connect, front desk was rude & hung up on me after 2nd call to say the code given wasn't working, "well that's what it is".. 3 of us tried on 3 different devices,..none connected, room was cramped and humid/damp, AC off.. bathroom door didn't close all the way, didn't fit the frame correctly and therefore could not lock in case of zombie invasion,.., there was hole drilled thru a small divider wall in the corner for the 'closet' with an extension cord running through it to the wide open and warm fridge (doubt this set up would pass safety codes), beds were bouncy not firm, jagged egded holes drilled in the metal door frame for the deadbolt, loose and rattly fit, literally have to slam doors to shut them (not just us). Best thing about it was the strong AC unit, bouncy beds (I happen to like soft, you won't like beds if you need a firm mattress) and the small tv at least worked. Oh and the welcome card or guest card was crumpled and used not fresh and new. Bathroom by the way is very narrow, can not extend arms all the way out before touching both walls.. And was very boring and minimalist, all white, 2 towels, no hooks to hang anything, only room for only 1 toiletry bag on the toilet back. Also my room's view happened to be looking out into the stairs going upstairs. Can't comment on the pool didn't use it. I took pics and may post later.
