I would like to thank the Owners and Staff at the Safari Motel for another enjoyable vacation with my husband and dogs. You could not ask for a Better Place to Stay In Ocean City Md. I can not say enough kind words about the staff for there hospitality and there extended thoughtfulness by being a Pet Friendly Motel. The coffee is a great way to wake up in the morning available courtesy of hotel. The fridge in the room is also an added plus. The motel is clean and right in the heart of everything on the boardwalk you can sit and watch the sunrise over the ocean. Now they also have bikes to rent so that you can take a bike ride and enjoy the boardwalk. We stayed there for eleven nites and honestly I never wanted to leave. I have been going to this Motel for aprox fifteen yrs and a couple times a year and I cant wait to go back. I never experencied any bad times at this motel. They treat my husband and I and our dogs Starr and Eddie, like family. Anyone planning a vacation in Ocean City MD should check this motel out. I am sure that your experience would be great just like all of ours are. The location on the boardwalk and porches are also an added plus. It is right in the middle of all the shops and restaurants on the boardwalk, and also there is bus availability, so you can go wherever you want. I have always found this motel to have very clean rooms and a very helpful staff. Give it a try and I guarantee you wont be disappointed. Room
Overall the room size was a plus. Very nice that you get a refrigerator and microwave. Only problem was that we could hear people walking up and down the stairs and moving chairs in their room. Would not be good if your dog is a barker. Or Uf you're a light sleeper.

Location
Excellent. Could not ask for more in terms of enjoying the beach, boardwalk, and neighboring streets.

Check In/Out
Safari staff is great. No problems with reservations. Process was quick and easy.

TV
While you won't have a flat screen, you get a decent size, not too old box tv. You get all the cable channels you would need if you stay in one night.

It definitely beats the Knights Inn so worth the money, especially if you have a dog. And they don't restrict based on the size of your pooch. In fact they'd never even see your dog. Just lie and say he/she weighs 45 lbs and you'll be fine. I will admit the hotel may look creepy from the outside, but it was clean and not disappointing. If it had thicker walls, I would give it a 5

We have stayed here for the past 14 years. The motel is perfectly located for us--on the boards and away from the honky tonk noise. The facility is old(built in 1962), but is mostly well maintained and above all...CLEAN!!! They accept pets and there is absolutely no evidence of pet odor! We stayed on the fourth floor right next to the balcony and it was like almost having a private deck. The free coffee is a great asset. This year they have added bike/surrey rentals. There is a security system which monitors the corridors and parking lot--making you feel safe--it is not intrusive at all. We take TV trays to use in the room and on the deck. Looking for an older motel that accepts pets? Try the Safari for value and above all cleanliness.!

I've just came from a stay on the Safari motel and I have mixed feelings about it.
The location is superb, but the rooms are not very good it was full of ants. On the other side the staff is nice and helpful. The good thing is that allows pets in the hotel and I couldn't feel any noise from other rooms.Ahh, no breakfast, but Wifi and TV included.Free Parking and coffee.

The main concern is that the price is like a 4 star hotel in Fifth Avenue,maybe because the Labor day weekend, but for that price i will expect much more.
