“Mini-vacation made perfect thanks to quiet location of Casablanca!”

Recently my boyfriend and I booked a room for a mini vacation. For $165 we booked the Oceanfront King. We arrived earlier than expected, and the front deak staff allowed us to check in early. When we came into the room everything was perfectly clean and had a very "home" feel. The whole hotel was nice and quiet, and the staff was extremely polite! For as close to the beach it is, its a steal! The elevator starts to move sometimes before the door is closed, which is a little scary, but there's nothing wrong with taking the stairs. I would ABSOLUTELY stay here again!

“Diamond in the Rough”

My friend and I recently stayed at this hotel. Looks can be decieving. It does look old in comparison to other hotels along the strip. But we were throughly pleased with it. If you want to stay within the noise and activity, then this not your hotel. It is 2 blocks from the end of boardwalk. Service was excellent. We arrived early and the room was not ready. The front desk too our cell phone and called as soon as it was avaialble. We had ocean front room. The room was clean..no bed bugs. I would definately stay here again.

“A Pleasant Surprise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

My husband and I (30 y.o.) booked this hotel on Expedia because it was the cheapest available that had what we wanted (basically a roof over our heads and close to the Boardwalk). We were VERY pleasantly surprised by the hotel! Our room was HUGE for motel/inn standards and had a complete kitchenette and a living/dining area. We were very pleasantly surprised. The location was half a block from the boardwalk which was great, parking was across the street and free, and the staff was super friendly. We definitely got great value for what we paid for.

The only downsides were: No internet access, only one slow elevator (horrible come check-out time), and the cleanliness left a bit to be desired. The elevator stinks like wet dog, bathroom drain had a bunch of hair in it, which made me gag, and the carpets need to be torn up and replaced with tile - seriously.

Some reviewers complained that they couldn't party here, but for me, that is a big plus. If I wanted a college kids overrun hotel experience, I'd go to Florida for spring break. I really liked that the hotel is quiet and we got a good night's sleep.

“Great time - Decent Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

I stayed at the Casablanca Oceanside Inn for 2 nights with my girlfriend and her friend and we had a great time. This was our first time in Ocean City. The hotel is conveniently located near alot of great restaurants and night life. The hotel staff was friendly and very accomodating. There were only 2 drawbacks that I have to let other people know about. The first was the elevator. The elevator is so slow it's ridiculous. It also smelled really bad. The second drawback is the ice machine. There is only one ice machine and its located on the ground floor. By the time we were ready to go to the beach, around 10am, the ice machine was totally empty from everyone else filling up their coolers. Most hotels/motels have more than one ice machine. It wasn't a problem because we went next door to the Howard Johnson and used their ice machine! Overall it was a great trip and I would recommend the Casablanca Oceanside Inn to anyone looking for an inexpensive getaway. I would definitely stay there again. Oh yeah, and one more thing. My friend left an item in the room when we checked out. The staff called us immediately to let us know that they had secured the item for us but by that time we were well on our way back home and didn't want to turn around. They told us that UPS would pick up the item and deliver it to us in NY. I've gotta say that they were very professional, friendly and all around nice people.

“Please read if you are a young person planning a trip with friends.....”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2010

I just read another review which was written by a young person with a nearly identical experience, so I'm sure there are numerous guests who have encountered the same treatment by the staff at Casablanca. Last summer, a few of my friends and I went up to OC for a mini vacation before heading back to college. My friend booked this place online....BIG MISTAKE. Guests are not permitted into the hotel after 9 pm...which was not that big of a deal but it would have been great had they told us this before we brought friends back with us. We were also visited several times by a security guard who issued us a pre-eviction notice because of the noise complaints that another room had called in. Now either the walls in this place are paper thin or someone had hyper sensitive hearing because we had a visit from the security guard that night (which was a "warning" issued to us at 9:15 pm.... because I'm sure so many of our neighbors were trying to catch some beauty sleep at that hour). The pre-eviction notice came about an hour later due to our refusal to quiet down. We were unaware that sitting around a table and talking at a normal tone was a violation of the contract that we signed. Our drivers licenses (half of us were over 21) were taken to the front desk for some inexplicable reason, and my friend who was paying to stay at this hotel was excorted off of the property where he had to find another place to stay because we exceeded the number of allowed guests per room. Who knew? Luckily a friend was staying at a much friendlier establishment further up the boardwalk and he was able to stay in their room for a night. We thought about leaving Ocean City that night considering we were clearly not welcome by the staff at Casablanca (whom we were paying- don't forget), but decided to stay another night since that was what we paid for...in full...at check in. Rather than staying in, we headed to a few places on the boardwalk and visited various friends' houses. Luckily we avoided getting evicted on night 2...surprise!

I would not go to the Casablanca Hotel if I was PAID to stay there another night. Apart from the unfriendly staff and the unreasonable "contract" that we apparently violated several times, the place was filthy. The rooms and halls smelled, the furniture on the balcony was broken, and the carpet and sheets were stained. We came to the beach for a relaxing two days and left angry and unhappy with our decision to even plan the trip. Please take this review into consideration especially if you are staying in this hotel with friends. Good luck :)
