I have going to the Carousel 40 years (except for a few years before the current mangement
took over). Once they took the helm they put the ship on the right tack. Slowly but surely
they have improved the hotel with large flat screen tv,new granit vanities in both the bathrooms
and the kitchenetts . They have put in place a great staff from the front desk,house keeping,maintance,food service and all that you don't see . The impossible just takes a little
longer for this staff .
The reason I am giving this reveiw is that I see the one dot reviews . They do not realize
that the condos are privately owned and maintained or the come when all of O.C. is extreamly
busy . If the went any where in O.C. the would wait on line,wait for a table,wait for food which
may not be perfect.
If I live 10 more years I'll bring my great grand kids. They will ride the elevator pushing all the
buttons and I'll get a call from Patrick or Glenn that security has them in tow . (yes the hotel
has great security) . They will be scared I'll punish them for 5 minutes and then off to the
pool,ice skating,snack bistro,play ground or beach .
The Carousel is about fun at a affordable price .

My family and I absolutely love staying at the Carousel in OC! This hotel has everything you could possibly want or need right at your finger tips! We have stayed in both the condos and the ocean front rooms and have yet to be disappointed with either. The kids love it and ask to go again as soon as we leave. This hotel offers indoor and out door pools, saunas, hot tub, on site resturants, snack bars, gift shop, game room, fitness room, hotel bar and best of all its own indoor ice rink!
My family is like the Brady Bunch supersized...there are 8 kids and finding something for everyone is sometimes quite a task, not here! Everyone is happy, occupied and has something to do! It's great for mom and dad get aways too!!!!
I have never once in all my years visiting this hotel had a problem with staff, cleanliness, or quality. Top of the line here kids and always priced reasonably!

I love staying at the Carousel in Ocean CIty. It is my hotel of choice when I visit the Ocean. My sister lives in OC so I visit several times a year. Everyone at the hotel is so friendly and helpful. The place itself is clean, appealing and has activities for all ages. There is so much to do at the hotel, you don't even need to leave. My husband loves the fitness center and I love the indoor pool. My sister visits us at the hotel and we sit around watching the people skate around the indoor rink as we chat. The rooms are comfortable and I love the coffee maker in the room. I love to go out on the balcony with a cup of coffee and I don't even have to leave to get the coffee. I highly recommend the Carousel Resort hotel. If you have kids, there is plenty to keep them busy without going out and spending more money!

Our family of 4 plus my Mom and Dad enjoyed ourselves at the Carousel for New Year's Eve 2011-2012. We were somewhat concerned after reading some of the reviews but found none of the issues that other reviewers had remarked upon. Our check in was simple and easy and were given the keys to room 448. My parents had room 446.

Our room was clean and functional. WiFi worked without issue on our laptops,Kindle Fire and Ipod Touch, TV was a flat screen type. Our room had a kitchen sink, a coffee maker, a microwave and a minifridge. An ironing board and iron were included in a decent sized closet in the room. The sofa could be converted into a bed if necessary and a hair dryer was available in the bathroom. We had a nice view of the beach and also a nice view of the atrium.

A quick inspection of the beds and linens showed no bed bug issues. Management brought up extra pillows at our request. The linens smelled clean with a faint trace of chlorine, which to me is a reassuring scent. The beds and linens, while not the highest quality, were comfortable. Furniture exhibited minor wear and tear, typical for Ocean City as this town sees heavy tourism every year. Ocean City is slowly becoming a year round destination too. Over the New Year's weekend, the Boardwalk was surprisingly busy!

New Year's was pretty fun and definitely intended for families. The Carousel's reputation as a swinging playground ended decades ago. The property was crawling with kids! If you don't like the sounds of children enjoying themselves,don't stay here. You'll be disappointed.

We were treated to a great figure skating show. Young teens and kids from the area were the stars and they really gave it their all. One of the banquet rooms was set up with Legos, board games, and sketchpads. My own children (14 and 17) enjoyed ice skating and swimming in the pool. The rink and pool were well maintained. The ice cream parlor next to the rink serves baked goods, hot pretzels, soft drinks,and of course ice creams. We ordered 4 milkshakes made right on the spot and thought they were reasonably priced.

The New Year's buffet was quite tasty, which was surprising as our breakfast served to us the morning before was somewhat disappointing. The buffet, while not cheap, consisted of blue crab claws, steamed shrimp, crab soup, king crab, grilled vegetables, potatoes, jerk chicken and prime rib. All you could eat of course. The staff made sure that the serving table was never empty. I recommend making reservations beforehand as there was a line waiting for available tables.

All in all, we really enjoyed our stay. All of us decided that New Year's at the Carousel will be a new family tradition.
