We loved staying at this hotel. This is an older hotel so if you want 5 star than this is not for you. The place is very clean. The price is a little high for a room but you are also paying for a location. We will stay again. We did not even need the car to get a great meal. You can walk to most places. Parking is free. Hotel is on the boardwalk in the heart of ocean city. The Hotel has a great deck overlooking the boards. The deck has a great oceanfront view. Its a great historic beach hotel that has been taken care of well. It has a pool & there are places inside to relax,read a book etc. Now some reasons that it's not a 5 star hotel. They only have a service elevator. Guest can use this but the staff must work it. We used the steps except when we were unloading & loading the car. The rooms are not really ocean view or ocean front like you would think, but the outside deck has a great oceanfront view. The rooms are small but very clean. Some have better stuff than others. Our room had a great sink (places to sit your stuff) with an older TV. The room beside us had a basic sink & a flat screen. If you are going to the beach & want a good place to shower & sleep in the best location this is the place. If you are staying with 2 kids that are small & need a room run than this room may not work for you. My kids are 11&15 so it was fine for us for 3 days (2nights). If we went for a week we would want a larger room . Hope this helps

The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. I liked the old style lift. There was parking outside, although this was a public parking lot. Our car was scraped in the night by another car. The staff were helpful.

I was a little nervous about this hotel given some of the mixed bag reviews, but our stay turned out great! I read a review that had me worried about the parking, but it was fine, always plenty of parking. Of course, we went in mid-September, so that's off season, which probably helped. The location was great, very clean rooms. The old fashioned elevator was a little inconvenient, but was fine. The staff was very nice, very helpful. They overhead us talking about breakfast in the parking lot and someone offered up some ideas. The staff cleaning our room was very nice in asking if we needed more towels, etc. (we left them a nice tip). It was a little weird to pay for the whole stay up front, but not a problem. Yes, the sink was outside the bathroom which is atypical, but worked out just fine. The pool was one of the warmest I think I've ever been in, so that was a nice treat!

Our family wanted to take a quick overnight getaway to OC to spend a little quality time as family. This hotel fit the bill. I've read that some of the rooms are quite small, however, our family of 5 (with 3 teenagers) slept in the 2 queen room + rollaway bed quite comfortably. I probably wouldn't want to stay all 5 in this room for a week, but for a few days, it's perfectly acceptable. The location can't be beat-- right in the middle of everything. The hotel is old in a quaint way, not dirty and dingy. Beds were acceptable (bring your own pillow if you can), sink is outside the bathroom and bathroom is small-- but all is clean and well maintained. No complaints from us and we would stay here again.
