Stopped here on our way from Annapolis to Ohio. Wanted to stay somewhere off the beaten path in a cool location. Deep Creek Lake is cool and there were some fun things to do in the area. Bob, the owner, was very helpful and friendly. He made sure we knew what to do and where to go. The room was very small and the bathroom even smaller than small. Not worth the price paid. When we arrived the room smelled like someone had dumped an entire bottle of Clorox. Opened the windows and door and the smell dissipated. The view was nice though!

Was meeting my Brother for the day at Deep Creek and decided to spend the night. Found the hotel on the internet and when compared to other hotels in the area felt this was the best bet for the money. The location was excellent and we enjoyed a fabulous meal at nearby Pinelodge Staekhouse and snacks over the Steeler game at Blackbear Tavern. Our room was great ! The microwave and fridge were very nice to have and the fireplace was great. We reallyenjoyed the deck and spent as much time out there enjoying the view as we could. It is a very relaxing place to unwind and relax. We enjoyed it so much we stayed a second night. The best part of our stay here though was definitely the exceptional service from Bob. He went above and beyond helping us and even made a phone call to try to locate a store I was trying to find. This kind of personal touch and excellent customer service is rare these days and is what will make us come back to Lakestar Lodge the next time we visit Deep Creek.

We stayed at this motel for a short "get-a-way" for our anniversary. We chose this motel based on reviews from this site, and I can say I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting worse and received better, so I was happy. Were there things that weren't perfect? Sure. The shower was the worst part of the room, the floor of the shower creaked unbelievably, and the water smelled badly. The bed wasn't all that comfortable, but I have slept on worse. The room was clean, and well kept however. The fireplace was a nice touch, but we had to buy a lighter at the gas station across the street to light the "fake" log. Very close proximity to many dining and shopping areas. We had excellent meals at both UNO and the Black Bear Restaurant/bar. Overall, it was a pleasant couple days away from home and we would certainly stay there again.

The service at this hotel was really great. Bob,at the front desk, went above and beyond to help out with directions, instructions etc. to make our stay comfortable. He even moved us to another room with better view of the lake upon request. Obviously this can be done only if rooms are available. The lodge is located right beside a lake, which is OK. I did not find the lake too great, but that does not mean you would not like it. The rooms in this hotel are small - i.e. cannot fit two queen sized beds. If you love large rooms, this is probably not the right place for you. The amenities are basic, though clean. There was no microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer or electric iron in the room. Almost all the rooms overlook the lake and you can have a pretty nice view from the balcony. The location is great. There are eating places and a visitors center within walking distance.
