“Nice place - good location to airport”

I always like Aloft, always fun and lively. Staff was nice and room was really clean. Only thing is something in the hallways of Aloft properties has a weird smell, not sure if its the carpet but I have noticed it now in two different Aloft hotels and it is the exact same smell.
Great location to the airport and there is a really cool looking Northrop Grumman museum right next door I would like to see sometime.
Would recommend for business travelers or families.

Room Tip: Its and Aloft so they are all the same unless you get a ADA room.

“Perfect for games”

I stayed here last summer and was the first time I had stayed at an Aloft Hotel. The rooms are a little different than a generic hotel room but in a good way. The bathroom had plenty of room, the shower was pretty big and the shower/toilet had a door to close it off from the sink and counter. The hotel was very quiet when we stayed and not very full. We stayed here to go to an Orioles game and were planning to drive downtown and park for the game, but the hotel attendant suggested we take their free hotel shuttle to the light rail stop at the airport (3 min. van ride). We were glad we did, a lot cheaper and less hassle. I recommend this hotel, especially if you are heading to a baseball game.

They nailed it. The room layout is enlightening - exceptional use of space. Delightfully quiet room, superb comfy bed, great lighting, small fridge, useful safe, complimentary water, great shower, super clean, friendly staff, and on and on. Just stay here.

“Ok hotel, but not for this business traveler”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Frequent business traveler, have Gold status with Starwood and Diamond with Hilton. I stayed here one night as I had an early flight home out of BWI. First off, this property is fine for a one night stay, (especially someone traveling alone who just wants to sleep) and is convenient to BWI via rental car or the complimentary hotel shuttle.

That said, I would not recommend it for an extended stay or even for couples as the rooms are very small, and sparsly furnished. This is my first stay at any Aloft hotel, and I don't know what I expected, but this wasn't what I expected! I'm sure the designers of this chain think it's a trendy concept appealing to the younger traveler, (which is fine), but it doesn't appeal to this 49 year old, male business traveler. The room design is just too small and not functional for my taste. While there is a desk with a swivel chair (and pencil, not pen), there is nowhere to 'relax' in the room, as the bed takes up much of it. There is a 'sofa', which is really just a padded ledge to sit on, but it is against the wall, directly underneath the flat panel screen, so it's not practical for use if you're planning on watching TV. Instead you need to move the chair away from the desk, back enough to see the TV. THe king size bed I had was ok, however there were only 2 small pillows provided (unless you count the tube pillow which is not functional to sleep with) which was ok for me, but would not be for a couple, as I like two pillows to myself to sleep. Towels were also rationed, although I'm sure you could call the desk to get more.

The rest of the furnishings were on the cheap-looking and sparce side (I guess the designers thought trendy, functional) such as the 'closet' and nightstand, which were both of an open design, meaning no drawers. Add the 'Spin' magazines that were included, and you can see how the appeal must go to the younger generation, but not the business one I'm accustomed too. I didn't care for the bathroom design either; a sliding mirror closed off the toilet and shower areas, but as it was just for one night, and one person, so ok. (No tub).

There is a lively bar downstairs which I did not use. Overall, the room was clean and effecient. Fine for one night for a single traveler, but wouldn't want to stay here for a week, or as a couple.

I enjoyed my very first stay at an Aloft. Lobby sure is interesting. I liked my room - it was nice and clean. It reminded me of european hotels with the clean lines and modern design. I ate pizza at the bar and it was pretty good.

Room Tip: Nice stay but if you want to sleep in past 6am, be warned that you can hear the airplanes landing an...
