“Surprise Inside”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2011

After driving for 10+ hours, we decided to stop at 11:30 p.m. Our first indication of trouble should have been the 'full' sign at our first stop. We decided to try the Super 8 down the road and found out a rally was in the area, so no discounts (AAA nor AARP). The outside was unappealing, but we were tired. We were given a room ($95) and then told the elevator was broken. Common courtesy would be to give at least 10% off of the room, but again, I must mention we were tired. While carrying our belongings up 3 flights of steps two times, through a dingy corridor that had a musty odor, all I could think about was 'how could I talk my husband into driving another hour to find another hotel?' The door to our room was old and scarred, but we were pleasantly surprise when we opened the door. Our room had recently been remodeled and painted. Even the bathroom was new and clean. I still was bummed out about paying $95 for a Super 8 with a broken elevator, but pleased to find a clean room. The breakfast was the typical high carb fare, but okay.

“I loved it and will return soon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

I stayed in room 105, along with my 3 children for one night. We stayed in a non-smoking room. The lady in the reception area was very polite and respectful at all times. (I cant recall her name, but very sweet lady... I remember that evening, my 6yr got a tummy ache (I didnt have any child meds w/me) so I went to ask her a question ...she was very informititve when she seached something in the internet for me) In total btwn, the comfy bed and the room... I cant complained!

“Bed Bug City”

Young girl at front desk was very rude, whole time she checked me in she was talking on phone with her friend making plans for when she got off work. She acted like I even wasn't there.
Booked a non smoking room, upon entering room reeked of smoke. Go back downstairs, girl is still on phone talking, interrupted her conversation, stated I wanted another room, was informed no other rooms were available. Go back upstairs to my smelly room & get ready for bed, pulled back the covers to find an army of bedbugs.
This time I called & requested to speak to manager, was informed he had gone home.
Next morning when checked out asked for manager again, still wasn't available. Will never stay at this place again.

“Probable bedbugs”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2010

My husband and I stayed here in mid-October 2010. The room was very dark. We attempted to check for bedbugs before unpacking and didn't see any signs on the mattress, though it was obvious that the room hadn't been cleaned very thoroughly. In retrospect, we should have brought a flashlight. By the next evening, I had about twenty bites, most on my neck and back. As we spent most of the next day in our own car, the bites almost definitely came from this hotel. Wish we would have been more careful!

“Decent Price With Great Staff, Accommodated Our Needs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2009

We recently stayed at this Super 8 for one-night on 9/11 as a rest point traveling with a toddler. As a walk-in the night staff (12:15am) was very helpful locating a coupon that their property in a travel book we had which provided an excellent price. Breakfast which was included in the price had awesome hours 6-10am. Our 3rd floor room was a bit tight with 2 queens having a chair on one side between the bed and outside wall, a nightstand in between the 2 beds, a standard table with 1 chair and in-room coffee maker which we did not use. TV inside the wardrobe that actually pulled out and swiveled with decent channels and there was a no-cost safe and refrigerator in room. Microwave use was in the lobby.

The bathroom was basic with a tub/shower combo, toilet and single sink. When we checked in I asked if their had been previous complaints such as bedbugs and I was informed a few years ago the cleaning chemicals they used messed up the tubs as they had peeled some of the inside of the tub away. This said, the bathroom was clean as was the room.

I was given a choice of a smoking or non-smoking room and though I'm a smoker we prefer a non-smoking room. My only complaint with the room would be when we opened the window there were butts and ashes between the frame and screen that obviously had been there quite some time. However the room did not smell of smoke at all; and yes though I smoke I would have smelled it immediately and asked to be moved.

Breakfast was adequate with your choice of 2 cereals, oatmeal, pop tarts, individual fruit cups or yogurt cups, bagels with plain or strawberry cream cheese, danishes and donuts. Drinks were choices of 2% or whole milk, coffee which was provided 24/7, and oj or apple juice. The biggest complaint with this hotel would probably have to be the sitting area as it is right in the check-in lobby only containing 3 small tables with 2 chairs at each table.

This aside the hotel is 3 stories with stairs at each end, an elevator and even 2 luggage carts. There is a vending machine and ice machine on the 1st floor just as you enter the hall to the rooms. We didn't know when checking in; however they are pet friendly as their was 2 guests with well behaved dogs in the morn.

This hotel met our needs, and the morn staff was as just friendly and cheerful as the night staff. I would not hestitate to stay here again as a stop-over and would recommend it to others.
