“This hotel was the a very bad place to stay!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 June 2010

The employees are rude all but one. The rest never knew anything when it came to prices or service. House keeping would bring in durty dingy towels that never look clean. I on receive room service twice a week. I had to wash my own sheets and go to the front desk in order to get towels the rest of the week. They have pictures like they offer breakfest bar bu they dont. The carpet in the office looks moled and the internet works only 75% of the time. They were bugs in my room and never had fitted sheets. This hotel needs to make some very neede improvement or shut down. If there was a way to report them I would. It needs to be inspected!!

“DISGUSTING HOTEL”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2010

Our 8th grade class touring DC stayed at this hotel. The rooms smelled of smoke, the carpets were filthy, the sheets were old, dirty and worn, the lobby carpet is black with stains and the elevator rarely works. DO NOT stay here-no matter how cheap the room rate is. The clientele in the other rooms were extremely sketchy-along with their activities. LONG commute in DC every day.

“Absolutely Disgusting!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2009

Whatever you do, STAY AWAY! When we arrived at the Laurel or Ramada (or whatever you want to call it) our room had no toilet paper or towels. When we called for towels they brought us some that looked that they had been used to change the oil on a car. I am pretty sure that the room had never been vaccuumed. The non-smoking room smelled like nothing but old cigarretts. When I got ready to crawl into bed I noticed that there were ashes in the sheets (obviously has not been washed). When my husband went down in the morning to get coffee he said there was one cup and sugar everywhere. The guy on duty was sleeping at the desk. Yes, it only cost us $45, but next time I will definitely pay a little extra for a clean room. We left at 7AM because we could not wait to get out of there!!!

at this time the hotel was sold out to new management, and the renovation was going on. Even new management trying to evaluate new market in this area.

“Very Unsatisfactory”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2009

I recently stayed there with my Youth Church Group because it was a miday point between Washington, D.C. and Baltimore since we were going to visit both places.  Upon entering my non-smoking room, I immediately smelled cigarette smoke.  I turned on the A/C to get some air circulating and looked up at the ceiling to see that the room's smoke detector had been ripped off the wall, wires were sticking out, the qeen sized beds we were expecting based on information from the website were nonexistent - we had small doubles and the exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work.  I called the front desk requesting additional towels in the room and had to physically go to the front desk twice to remind them, needless to say I finally received the towels at 9:45 that night. The hotel boasts about having a restuarant, however the restaurant was closed on the day we checked in (a Monday).  There is a menu for the restaurant in each room, however that was not updated - we took the youth downstairs expecting an all you can eat buffet (based on the menu in the room) only to find that only thing open was the bar.  The hotel website also boasts about having high speed wireless internet, but no one could get a connection anywhere on-site.  There were some hotel guests smoking directly in front of the door leading to the non-smoking rooms and smoke was just wafting through the hallway.  We walked through the smoke to complain at the front desk and were told, "Oh, they are guests, they just rent out our banquet room for their monthly meetings, but we have told them numerous times that they are not to do that" and if we saw them again to please come and let them know.  We only stayed two nights, but it was not pleasant.  Most of the people traveling with me had complaints.  I voiced these when we checked out, gave my contact information and was told a manager would be calling me later that day.  When I didn't hear from him, I called back the next day and left him a message.  It has been a week and I still haven't heard from him.  If you have to be in Laurel, Maryland DO NOT stay in the Laurel Inn, formerly the Ramada Inn Laurel.
