“Safe, Comfortable, Enjoyable Stopover”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

We stopped in Hagerstown on a stopover en route to Virginia Beach. Upon arrival, our check-in was seemless and the front desk staff was very courteous and helpful. Once we got our room, it was exactly what I had booked online and the great AAA/CAA rate that had been guaranteed to me. The beds were comfortable, as was the temperature control system in our room, and the ammenities were clean, well-maintained and easily accessible. We did not use the pool as it was pouring out (it's an outdoor pool) but it also looked well-maintained and well-stocked in terms of towels, etc.
The breakfast the following morning was fresh, well-stocked, and the hosts were very polite and helpful.
Also, the lobby was well-stocked with brochures of surrounding sites and restaurants, which greatly helped us as we plan on travelling this route again, so we have things to see and do in advance should we arrive early or decide to extend our stay. We went for a walk in the surrounding suburb which was peaceful and pleasant.
My family and I would travel to this Hampton Inn again without hesitation and had a great stay.

Room Tip: Use your CAA/AAA discount/privileges.

“Great little hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

Stayed last minute to catch a minor league baseball game and do some outlet shopping. Hotel was reasonably busy but got a nice AAA deal. Room was clean, everything worked, pool was nice. Breakfast was more than adequate and service was friendly and helpful. Would go back.

“Adequate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2011

We are fans of Hampton Inns - we appreciate the value - and probably stay in a least a dozen different Hampton locations each year. That said, this one was a disappointment. We will be returning to this area to visit family several times in the next year --- and we definitely won't stay here.
The Inn is not well marked -- the gas station just across the highway did not know that it was a Hampton. There seems to be ongoing construction which makes getting in and getting out a bit dicey. But it's the sort of tiredness of the place that is a downer.
The desk is sort of friendly. The coffee is sort of hot. Never saw any cookies. Bathroom was awful. Who cares what shampoos are provided if one has to deal with a plugged bathtub drain, a smelly (moldy) shower curtain, and a shower head that requires short folks to climb on top of the tub's side to adjust. (do I hear lawsuit?!)
As previous writers attest, the wifi is very poor. We were told, after letting the desk know that we couldn't get service in our room or in the lounge, that the best place for wifi service was near the bathrooms & elevators on the 1st floor. That's where we stayed -- until the man with the vacuum sort of chased us away!
Hilton Honors? They do nothing here. We got a bottle of water and a bag of Cheetos. We are returning to Hagerstown in September I'm sure we can do better.

“Nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2011

After a very trying day of an emergency and long travel, I just needed a place to stay for the night. The hotel was clean, my room was very spacious, the staff was friendly and breakfast was good. i would stay here again.

“Nice enough, but not up to date ...”

Stayed here on a cross-country trip ... convenient to I-81. Seems like an older place, with few restaurant selec tions nearby. Layout of the place is odd, and the rooms are not updated with regard to electrical outlets for charging various devices. All in all, an adequate facility for a one-night stop on a longer journey.
