We are fans of Hampton Inns - we appreciate the value - and probably stay in a least a dozen different Hampton locations each year. That said, this one was a disappointment. We will be returning to this area to visit family several times in the next year --- and we definitely won't stay here.
The Inn is not well marked -- the gas station just across the highway did not know that it was a Hampton. There seems to be ongoing construction which makes getting in and getting out a bit dicey. But it's the sort of tiredness of the place that is a downer.
The desk is sort of friendly. The coffee is sort of hot. Never saw any cookies. Bathroom was awful. Who cares what shampoos are provided if one has to deal with a plugged bathtub drain, a smelly (moldy) shower curtain, and a shower head that requires short folks to climb on top of the tub's side to adjust. (do I hear lawsuit?!)
As previous writers attest, the wifi is very poor. We were told, after letting the desk know that we couldn't get service in our room or in the lounge, that the best place for wifi service was near the bathrooms & elevators on the 1st floor. That's where we stayed -- until the man with the vacuum sort of chased us away!
Hilton Honors? They do nothing here. We got a bottle of water and a bag of Cheetos. We are returning to Hagerstown in September I'm sure we can do better.
