“Price is high for nothing fancy but its fine.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2011

Plenty of parking, easy to find, walking distance to some of the restaurants and bars on Kent Narrows. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. They switched my room for me and when I couldn't find my AAA card, they went ahead and gave me the discount and told me to just show the card later (which I did..it was buried in my suitcase). The free breakfast was good, not huge but adequate offering waffles, fixings for breakfast sandwiches, cereal and pastries.

My first room was on the third floor facing the highway. The hotel does have a single elevator but it’s on the opposite end of the office so you may want to leave your luggage in the car until you know where you are going to be (there is parking in the elevator-end of the hotel). I asked for a non-smoking room and when I opened the door (which had a non-smoking sign) it reeked of smoke. Also, there is a lot of noise coming from the highway so if you are a light sleeper you may want to request a room facing the water. The staff had no issue with changing my room and apologized for the inconvenience. Second room was better. The room was large. Furnishings are basic and functional, no frills. Heater worked fine. Bed was comfortable and clean. Plenty of towels and all fixtures worked. The carpet was a bit worn with a few stains.

Note: This hotel does allow pets. I had a real barker next door to me that obviously was not a travel pro that barked at every little thing. You may want to try and get a room away from guest traveling with pets.

“Most Excellent Adventure”

The Best Western Kent Narrows (Grasonville, MD) Inn is a wonderful facility. Their physical facility is beautiful and very well maintained. Both the rooms, common areas and recreational facilities are always in first class condition. More importantly, everyone of the hotel's team members is kind, helpful and gracious. This hotel facility is well worth anyone's consideration for any type of stay. I travel regularly, and the Kent Narrows Inn is one of the very best at any price point. There is no other choice for me when in that area, either business of pleasure. I can't wait to have to return again, and it will be soon!

“Should be Called the Worst Western”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

What a pig sty! Start rolling your eyes on this review. Should have been called the "Kent Garbage Inn" instead of "Kent Narrows Inn." One look and we knew we made a mistake but it was too late to change hotels. Watching a dog eat the remains of his master's spareribs in front of a room 20 feet away from my room was the favorable part of the stay. The smell from the disinfectant (why a disinfectant, you may ask?) overpowered our olfactory lobes such that we kept the door open as much as possible. Did I mention that the room A/C units are also sprayed with the stuff so you can't win? I have to do exercises on the floor each morning to keep my lumbar vertebrae happy but I decided to do my exercises out on the lawn so I woudn't have to touch the floor with anything but my shoes. I fully expected to get a somewhat cleaner room but, ooops, not a chance. We (four rooms) were attending a wedding on the Chesapeake and decided to stay at the "Worst Western" for the night since we liked the idea of being across the street from the water and also didn't want to pay the two-night minimum at the Hilton across the street on the water. BIG MISTAKE. However, buyer beware...what can you expect for $159 on a weekend night, right? Well, "clean room" comes to mind! My son's room was worse than mine. His non-smoking room had smoke coming in from a bathroom vent shared with a smoking room behind it. Had to be there to really experience the smell. Other than that, rent a houseboat or pitch a tent but do not stay at this poor excuse for a hotel. And if you're rolling your eyes right now, I don't expect anything more than a clean room from a major chain. I've traveled too much during 30 yrs of business and have stayed in every imaginable type of accomodation. The Best Western chain should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this hotel to tarnish their name. Hey BW, can we spell "hotel inspections?"

“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2010

We were on our way to Chincoteague Island, Va and stayed here so the trip wouldn't be to long for the children. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast the next morning was great! We always stay at Best Westerns no matter where we go. They seemed to be the best and have great rates!
