My husband and I stayed in a junior suite for one night after attending a wedding nearby. I was extremely impressed with this property; beautiful lobby, nice employees and an awesome very clean room. The view from our balcony was magificent. The bed was super and I wish my bed at home felt as good. My only issue was with breakfast in the morning which costs about $10.00 and I just did not feel as though it was worth it. I hope to be able to go back to this hotel for a night this summer. It was definitely a very pleasant stay.

This place was an accidental find, and OMG was I glad we found it. The hotel was clean and well kept. The view rom our two room suite was amazing. If you check it out, make sure you ask for the water view and get it a few stories up. There are some great places to eat right nearby and the hotel has a nice breakfast. But it got really crowded, they do need to improve the way the line moves, it can get frustrating waiting for a couple of eggs, but It was a clean place, good selection of items and a moderate price. you cant fish on site but there is fishing every where with in a short walk. i wanted to fish right off the back deck with my son, but that they said nay nay. The nearby by peir was just fine and we sat there all night long. Didn't catch a thing, but we loved the music coming from the restaurants and the lights and the people just fishing in beach chairs. This hotel is in a quite out of the way location and we will go back. Its a great stop over spot. The staff was very nice and willing to help with all of our dumb questions.

We chose the HGI when visiting family on Kent Island. Though it's not very far from DC and Baltimore, the on-the-water location makes it feel like you've gotten away from the hustle and bustle of the metro area (we were there in off-season, so I can't vouch for how busy it might be during peak periods especially when Rte. 50 is jammed up!). If you want the true Eastern Shore experience, though, you would be better off staying in Chestertown or St. Michael's which are only another 25 miles or so down the road. The hotel is typical for HGI standards (meaning nice but not luxurious), and our room, a suite, offered water views and a balcony. Breakfast at the restaurant was typical of what is offered for free at some other chains.

We had a queen waterfront studio, which added to the cost, but we had a nice view from our balcony. The AC unit was quiet. This is my bugaboo about motels/hotels, and I will always mention it if there was an issue. It was a typical HGI, clean and pleasant, and I like the room to spread out in a studio room. We were just there for one night.
The person at the desk recommended The Narrows for dinner, as being quieter than some of the other nearby places (must have figured us for geezers, which we are!). It was a good recommendation.
