Note: Their pet policy is changing! After December 1, 2011, they are NO longer taking pets! It is a clean, nice, motel in thre moutains so a great stopping location if you are on a two day trip between point east and midwest. Great breakfast too! BUT, no pets allowed soon so we won't be stopping there again unless their policy changes back. There is only one other motel in the area that takes pets (which is not as nice, and costs more!) so really there is not a place if you need an overnight near Grantsville, MD on the mountain route. :-(. Maybe they will reconsider after they see their business really drop!

This hotel was exactly what I expected from a Comfort Inn. There were just 2 minor problems. The room was kind of humid, but running the air conditioner for a day took care of it. The mattresses in the room left a lot to be desired. One bed was too soft, and the other too hard. I traded beds with my room-mate on the second night and woke up feeling like I'd been run over.
The rest of the stay was good. The room was quiet and clean. The breakfast had a nice variety. The front office staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved the special touch of the fountain decorated for Halloween. We were spending time in Grantsville and the New Germany Park, so it was a great location. I would stay here again.

When we arrived we were overcome with the smell of mothballs. The room is small for a King. The bathroom was shabby. I agree with a previous review, the sink is low. The toilet seat is also very wide. I am not a petite woman, but I almost fell in many times. The bedding had stains on it. Obviously it had been laundered, but the stains remained. The lighting in the bathroom is passable, only with the sun lamp on. I had to take a bath and sit in the bathtub one night and couldn't wait to stand up. The shower curtain was stained.

The positives of this hotel are that there is a fridge and microwave, as well as a washer and dryer on floor. A fantastic positive is that it is a quiet hotel. While walking through the halls, I could hear the occupants in the room, but in our room, I heard nothing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and do all they can to help, even leaving a thank you for the tip.

It is not worth the price posted. But if you can get it through AAA, it's acceptable. Should be priced under $90 regardless. Major updating needs done throughout the hotel. I know an excuse has been that it IS a Comfort Inn and not a Hilton, but in my opinion, I paid for a Comfort Inn and got a Super 8. I don't think it meets up with Comfort Inn standards.

This hotel met our needs, with no extras. Got a good night's sleep and everyone we dealt with was very friendly. If that's all you want, this is the hotel for you.

converted Holiday Inn. Very nice looking building. Parking lot is old looking though, but well lit. Lobby, hallways, and room looked fresh and new. Spacious lobby. Continental breakfast does meet Choice standards, but lacked sausage gravy, which would have been delicious over the fresh, soft biscuits. Still enough to get your day started though.
