“Clean and convenient but could use some extras”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

The room was clean, the breakfast good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There is limited parking and I had to park in the shopping center lot next door one evening and the rooms do not come with refrigerators, which have to requested in advance. For over a hundred dollars a night I find that a bit odd.

Room Tip: The rooms don't come with a refrigerator so if you need one request one in advance.

“As nice as I expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

My stay at the Hampton Inn in Glen Burnie was pleasant with no problems. The continental breakfast was very good - the hot selections looked tasty and fresh. It was clean and well maintained. It was in close proximity to both the airport and a number of restaurants. Overall, an enjoyable stay on par wih what I expect when I stay at Hampton Inns.

“Very disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011 via mobile

Stayed here before an early flight out of BWI the following morning. Location is in a shopping mall behind a bank. You actually turn into the bank's lot. Very few hotel parking spaces, so we had to park in the mall lot. There is only one entrance to the hotel and the smoking area is within 10-15 feet of the doors. Disgusting.

At check in, I was given my key cards which appeared to have been 'coded' for my room (the clerk did not swipe them before giving them to me). However, neither one worked and I had to leave my family in the hallway while I returned to the front desk.

Also at check in, I requested a crib for my son. Later, I approached the front desk to ask about additional pillows. Instead of letting me complete my request, the rude clerk cut me off and said something like 'yeah, I know. We'll deliver the crib when one of the staff returns.' When we finally received the crib, there were no sheets or blanket.

As for the room, it was damp. I'm a Hilton gold member and my profile reqests an upper level floor room away from the elevators. Instead, we were placed on the second floor across from the vending machines and hotel office about 20 feet from the elevator.

I will stay at another chain before staying here again.

“Refreshed property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

It had been a fairly long time since I stayed at this hotel. My business in the area had me staying at properties near the airport. I had always liked the location of this one and it's proximity to my travel routes. The hotel completed a renovation which updates the interior and improves the seating in the breakfast and now evening Manager's Reception area. Breakfast and Reception were good with attentive staff. One shortcoming of the renovation is the room I was in did not appear to have had an electrical upgrade to add or replace any 110V receptacles. I have several charging devices and finding available outlets for them is often difficult in older properties. Such is the case here. I found enough for my needs, but had to unplug a lamp to do it.
My room was on the front and was very quiet. Bed was comfortable, room and common spaces were clean. I believe I got good value for what I paid. Will stay here again.

“Typical Hampton - everything was great and just as expected!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

The reason I like to stay at Hamptons is b/c I always know what to expect: same bedding, same bath accessories, same breakfast, etc. I understand that many Hampton Inn's weren't built from the ground up as Hamptons, many are renovated older properties that are taken over by the Hampton company. This is one of those cases. The decor (ie: wall paintings, carpeting, etc) were not the greatest, but that's not exactly what I'm paying for so who really cares? As far as amenities and services, this Hampton is on par with the Hampton Inn standard. Yes, it's in a strip mall, but that also makes it convenient to to shopping!

I would like to give kudos to the manager on duty when I arrived. My room was not ready, but I was early, so I wasn't disappointed. He took my cell number to let me know he'd contact the HK staff and get back with me with an ETA for my room. I honestly expected him to forget and planned to just return at the standadrd check in time. However, he DID call and let me know my room would be ready in about a hour and he'd call me BACK to let me know when I could return. And again, he DID! He called me almost excatly one hour later to let me know I could return to the hotel and check in at my convenience.

Wow! Unexpected customer service that went above and beyond. He could have simply said "Your room is not ready, come back at the check-in time" but he did everything he could to keep me posted and get me into my room early. I am pleased...
