And I mean that. The location was good with only a Hampton Inn & Burger King next door and a Rite Aid over the road. There was no noise from the Interstate and it was a short drive down into Frostburg or down I68 to La Vale/Cumberland. The reception was bright and airy and the rooms were, well, roomy and clean. The breakfast was not bad with the usual fare of cereals, toast, english muffins, pastries etc.

Overall a very enjoyable 4 day stay over Memorial Day weekend.

I cleaned out the ice bucket as there was crud in the corners, looked all over the floor for an ice machine. (no location shown on room map) Stopped in the lobby later and asked front desk, not a clue. They said hmmm let me see if I can figure this out, looked all over I asked hasn't anyone ever asked you where they were located before? They shook their heads no. Then one said oh we have one here in the lobby, so I figured asking for a spare ice bucket would not be a big deal, wrong! They don't keep any there, housekeeping has them all. Clerk comes out from behind a wall smelling a water pitcher and says I think this is clean, you can use this. I was dumbfounded, restating you think it is clean? She finally brought out a liner to use with it.
Room was very roomy with queen sized beds. However, you should travel with a mattress topper to save yourself from the springs poking you & waking you everytime you rolled over. Air conditioner did not work the second night all it did was blow air, nothing cool about it. At least we could open the window to get some air circulation.
Bathroom ceiling light had something splatter over all it and looked very gross!

We ended up here after first calling a half-dozen other places in the Cumberland area, the weekend of Memorial Day. The others were all booked up. Needless to say, this was not my first choice. I was expecting to have to grit my teeth through noise, grunginess, a cramped room, and things that didn't work right. We were pleasantly surprised -- there was none of that. Everything was good to excellent. Spacious room and bathroom, bathroom fixtures in good shape, much better free TV than many similar places (sharp reception, lots of channels, HBO), nice clean fridge and microwave. Each queen bed had FOUR pillows.

The free breakfast area was one of the most pleasant we've seen, and popular (9 am on a Sunday). The first thing I noticed at breakfast was the cream cheese bucket was empty, and I started grumbling to myself. But after turning away for just a few seconds, someone had generously refilled it. Many places they don't bother even checking, much less refilling, even after a complaint. I did not notice anything else that had run out.

There's only one ice machine in the whole place, in the lobby, but for the size and layout that wasn't really inconvenient. There are also water coolers in the lobby.

Only two minor negatives: I expected a fitness facility, but it turned out to be a separate, public health club in its own building adjacent to the hotel, and was closed when we were there. Also, the room carpet could have been cleaner around the edges and in corners.

Overall, highly recommended for this price range.

A change in plans prompted a hotel stay in the Cumberland, MD area the end of October. Prices in Cumberland were outrageous, so I decided to give the Days Inn in nearby Frostburg a try. I was glad I did! The hotel is a beautiful facility, large rooms and bathroom. And clean. Pillows were decent, not those paper thin ones found in so many other hotels. I have stayed at other higher priced hotels on business trips that were not as nice as this one.

Continental breakfast was served in the beautiful lobby. Only drawback to our stay was the breakfast - rather sub standard to what is found in most hotels. Toast, cereal, donuts, bagels - standard fare. Not a lot of guests were taking advantage of the food - maybe 5 of us, but the bagels ran out and no one was doing any restocking. Could be a big problem on a busy weekend. The hotel is centered around a small courtyard that has a laundry building.

Rooms were quiet and the ac unit worked fine.

My husband and I just spent one night at this Days Inn and we were very impressed. We were in town for a wedding and I had my standards set very low from previous Days Inn experiences. (Days Inn, Westminster Maryland. Yuck!) I don't think of Days Inn and think "quality stay". But, to my surprise, it was very clean. The pillows were nice and fluffy, the beds didn't have those disgusting old "comforter" things on them, the sheets were soft, and the bathroom was huge and renovated. I would highly recommend this hotel. Right next door to this place is the Hampton Inn but for the price of the Days Inn and the quality stay we received I would choose this over the Hampton Inn. The continental breakfast was good too!
