Carriage House Inn was recommended by B&B as nice place for dinner. Food was excellent and well presented. Staff was attentive. The custom of giving each female guest a rose is a nice touch. Menu selection was varied and good value for the amount.

Emmitsburg is a small town with an old fashioned Main Street. They barely have street lights and a trip up Main street will take you right back to Pennsylvania in a few minutes. The town has shops (and metered parking) but I didn't get to see the shops. I did get to have dinner at the Carriage House Inn which is a great restaurant with friendly service and excellent food. Emmitsburg is close to Rt. 15 and just a few minutes from Gettysburg, Pa. It's a quaint, quiet town to spend a relaxing weekend in but close enough to activities and tourist sites.

The Carriage House Inn is one of the most consistant and best restaurants in the area. It always serves good quality with a flair. The atmosphere is quaint and relaxed. Last visit featured soft easy listening big band music that made us want to linger. The staff is very friendly and easy to work with with no pushing or aggression of any kind. They don't seem to care how the big chains do it and Thank Goodness! We've gone there for several years and they always come in the same way - wonderfully. We are about to host a dinner there for our friends and we want to provide a well rounded event and we know the Carriage House will provide it. S and G
