I start out my reviews with 4-stars. Something that really wows me or I've never seen before gets the fifth. Something that needs improving goes the other way. I say that, because this is a really nice, clean and friendly Hampton Inn. Nothing wrong with it at all...except the location. It is in small town USA which is fine but there is railroad track right out back. Not a wide variety of restaurants very nearby but enough within a 15-20 minute drive. It is not wall shaking, horns blaring at all, but when the trains come by they are noticeable, but oddly very quick...they must be moving pretty fast.

I was on a business trip to visit a customer in Elkton, and I have a choice of where I stay. If I come back to Elkton, I will stay choose this Hampton again.

Who would have thought this was a Hampton Inn. Typically when traveling, you'd expect the no frills standard room at the same cost as everything else. This hotel was either new and decorated beyond current standards and not much above the low budget rate. It was like living in a luxury NYC apartment building. Everything was efficient, immaculate, and with the utmost city style. A far cry from the country bumpkin budget hotels that are usually along I-95. Where are there more of these because I wouldn't choose anything else!

We stayed here one Sunday night and found it to be one of the better Hampton Inns. The decor looked newish and the flat-screen TVs are new, so I think it has been recently renovated. It is very clean, and the bedding was comfortable. Breakfast was the typical Hampton Inn selections and the dining are is large enough for comfortable seating. It is adjacent to the Amtrak rail lines but the noise was very muffled and not a problem for us.

We needed a place nearby to U of Delaware and over toward Philly the next day for college tours. This was a good hampton, a little outdated, but not run down. Very clean, very pleasantly tucked away in a safe location.
